The first release in Tamiya’s new 1/18 Scale Little Gear Series, the TLT-1 (Tamiya Little Truck) is a powerful 4WD small-sized truck featuring superior suspension and four wheel steering capabilities. Being less than 30cm long, this truck can be as much fun in the house as it is outside. A lightweight durable polycarbonate body combined with loads of metal parts makes this little truck super tough. Box comes with handle and can be used as a simple carry case even after assembly. Tamiya will also be releasing a specially designed triangular battery pack to fit the TLT-1 battery holder.
About the TLT-1
Powered by a 540 type motor
Specially designed wheels and tires
Lightweight aluminum chassis
Belt driven 4WD system
4-wheel steering capabilities (2 servos required)
Four link push rod suspension with four aluminum dampers
Overall length approximately 280mm
*** This is a picture of a prototype. This is not the production truck.

Well, according to the specs, this one will be 4WD with a 540 motor. That should make things interesting. ;) :D

Finally something small that got my attention. Yes the Kyosho truck is sweet, but still only 2wd. THANK YOU TAMIYA! Now hurry up with it! :D

Id like to see somthing like this with a lower CG. That things going to flip over like crazy. I know its like a scaled down txt-1 in proportions but IMO trucks that have bodies and chassis that sit that high look stupid, although they are more realistic. Im praying that this will be available in kit form.

This is a very early prototype and as I understand it Tamiya would have preferred this information not be "out there" yet, but someone let it out. So, don't be too swayed by appearances because it's a prototype, and don't expect it too soon. I'll let you know if I learn more about it.

do the belts link the central tranny to the axles???? hope not, anyway it seems that they are axles and not belts between tranny and axles...
at this time I prefer the PTI's but this one will take ages to be released.....

well if tamiya are building one surely its only a matter of time before hpi or traxxas or losi or someone else buils one. at least i hope one of the other big players builds one because im thinking that the pti wont be out for a while, and when it does it will be pricy.
that tamiya truck just looks wayy too tall IMO, you guys are right about it flipping over... i was worried about that with the pti as well.

I'd sorry tamiya, but this is the age of CAD and CNC machining. You shouldn't be putting out products that look like someone made them in a basement with a jig saw and some sheet aluminum.
I mean, come on! That PTI truck, did you know it was actually originally made by another rc car mag editor! A home made monster truck appears WAY better than something put out by the largest mfg in rc!

Did you know that the TXT-1 was a home made truck originally by I belive it was Kevin Hetmanski of RCCA. He sold his design or truck and design to Tamyia in which they in return produced the TXT-1 and I saw Kevins truck before Tamyia got there hands on it and there where not many changes done by Tamyia.

grimlock3000
11-25-2003, 01:08 PM
They can call it a prototype all they want, but do not expect the real thing to vary much. There are few differences in the original shot to the new one, so obviously they are sticking with that design. Also, if they plan to release this by Jan or Feb, there is not much time to make any significant changes anyway.

The chassis can be replaced with an after market one or a custom one. If you think about that, the tlt is a good base to start from.
MegaMe
12-04-2003, 03:02 AM
true perhaps...if i had one i would make a custom chassis making the cg lower if possible, and also make it use normal batt packs...
while i want too see more pics of the layout, the belt drive does seem to waste space and make the motor unneccessarily high..
regardless i am really dissapointed by that video though: unless they were using like 20% throttle it seems a lot slower than the pti, and it got stuck as well where IMo it really shouldnt have...

The TXT-1 only goes about 8mph out of the box, and aftermarket parts and new electronics take care of the rest, the same should be true with the TLT-1 :)

The speed seems to be right where it needs to be for this rig, in stock trim anyway. Looks to be about perfect for crawling around the living room and rock crawling in the backyard. It's got an 05 sized motor, so the possibilities are pretty limitless in terms of what you could extract from the truck. I'm thinking Novak SS brushless power...

12-06-2003, 11:52 PM
round page one of this message board someone said they wanted to see a nitro 1/18 scale. chances are you wont see anything like that coming out because of how nitro's preform. a mini monster with lots of power would have to be run on smooth surfaces to achive high speeds (not very monster like) and the way the grabby clutchs work on most nitro's along with the high mounting location needed on a nitro would cause the mini not to be a well preforming rock crawler....aside from the fact that mini's dont generally preform as well rock climbing compared to there larger rc counterparts because of there lack of weight distribution and lack of conqurable structures....there still wicked fun tho :p

I think that for crawling and more "realistic" running, a 300-motor would be nice and enough. But I think it`s cool to have the option to over-motorize the little truck too :)

You do have to realize that cause of its small size, it will most likey tip over if your not carefull. MT are built for power, some speed is ok, but its not a stadium truck. Now if they only made 4 wheel drive stadium trucks, like the real ones, example make a new class, built on a modified sedan platform, short arms, for a realistic apearance. That would be cool. But anyway, I was going to get a motor with more torqe, and use a smaller pinion for more power. 4 wheel steering is a must. I hope that the battery pack is available when the truck is released. :D

Hi all... some info on this little truck...
1) No bearings at all. You'll need 20 1150 bearings for the tranny and 8 more (not sure of the size) for the cantilevers.
2) It comes with a battery pack - 6 cells wired in a 4x2 orientation
3) Awesome ball diff in the centre and gear diffs in the axles
4) Cut out on other side of chassis allows for motor adjustments and removal.
5) It does NOT come pre-assembled! YEAH!
It looks awesome!!!

update: ran the truck....charged up the 1700 batt.....went all the way to 1900+, ran in with the BL...got about 20 mins runtime....yes 20! i figure coz the BL is very effecient(sp?) and the fact that the truck is so small....
takes off like a rocket, jumping it was a lil hairy....but lands (if it lands on all fours) beautifully.
truck is very top heavy, so had to slam on the brakes before making sharp turns...(btw i did flip it...minor scratches).......decided to put the front bumper back on coz the steering links felt dangerously exposed with all that speed/power gulp....
will try my best to post vid...if i can get the damn digi camera to work....
looks like i'll be lowering the batts (ala BC style).....to improve the CG.

Just completed my TLT... more updates:
- truck comes with all parts necessary for 4WS, and gives you the separate instructions (and parts) for 2-channel and 3-channel mounting of the rear servo.
- all parts are high quality and very nicely finished.
- supplied battery is 1700mah and comes in a 4x2 config but cells are somewhat shorter than normal cells so if you wanna wire your own packs it'd be in a different configuration - e.g. 3x3.
- Center gearbox is shielded but not sealed... and the spur-pinion setup is also exposed to the elements so in stock trim this baby isn't gonna be good for the rough outside stuff.
- Shocks are pretty awesome. Gold anodized and oil-filled. The O-ring seals come factory assembled too (which is nice cos I hate building those... lol!)
- Center tranny comes with bearings but not the axles. You'll need 20 1150 bearings to finish the tranny and another 8 bearings for the cantilevers.
- gears in the axles are all metal construction and should take quite some abuse.
- Whole truck seems well thought out though there isn't a whole lot of room for electronics.
- Tire and wheel combo are winners - they simply look fantastic!
PERFORMANCE:
Now on to the good part...
- I set my truck up with 4WS and this thing is perfect in the house! I was running it around the living room with no problems. The truck has about a 2 foot turning radius with this setup so it's pretty agile on it's feet.
- Torque is pretty neat though... but the downside is that it has problems getting the power to the ground...
- that's because of the 3 diff setup. What helps the truck to steer so great causes it to lose traction while trying to crawl. With 3 diffs, all it takes is 1 wheel to break free and you're stuck. I guess you can tighten up the ball diff in the center and fill the gear diffs with thicker stuff to eliminate this though.
- gear diffs at the axles are like the TXT-1's... they aren't exactly sealed so you can't use thick silicone oil. Epoxy is one solution though it will be permanent.
- Truck has awesome articulation... gets about 4" on the outer edge of the tire which is cool for a little dude like this.
- however, that articulation doesn't always get it out of tough spots. Reason is that there isn't much clearance in the middle of the chassis in stock trim... so the truck can easily get stuck on top of an obstacle or ledge... when this happens the diffs unload and you're stuck.
- top speed isn't anything to gawk at with the stock motor but it's just about right for running around in the living room... enough to reach top speed occasionally on the long stretch but enough torque to keep it peppy on the get-go...
Conclusion:
- AWESOME TRUCK!
- Great fun to run and great fun to build.
- Needs mods to make it a good living room crawler, but as a blank canvas it's awesome! This is the first time we've got small solid axles to start with and metal gears in them!

questions:
is it possible to directly swicht to a 48Dp Spur Gear?
I don't want to waste too much money to find the right ratio for bigger tires and a lower turn motor.
Is it possible to disable the cantilevers? It seems there is not enough room to fit the shock directly from the chassis to the axles...
I don't like so much the stock shocks ...I wonder how would fit the new Mini T oil shocks or some classic associated's...:D

tower has updated their tlt page with lots of info.
i have to say though, as fun as these little trucks look as indoor rock crawlers, even $139 seems pricey when you consider you have to add all electronics, a special battery, and they don't even include a motor.
for those of us who run nitro but want some winter indoor fun, i think the cost of entry for the total package will end up being too high for most.
at least for me anyway.

how big are the tires? playing around with some of my spare parts, i pulled the foams out of a pair of 2.2 inch pro line dirt hawgs, and they are the softest tires i've ever seen. they'd be great in a crawler. how much too big would they be for the tlt?

I picked one up at the LHS today. Pretty cool. I wasn't planning on buying anything except for a Dean's, and then I saw the TLT sitting behind the counter. It's heavy! The hardware bag alone has to weig a couple of pounds. But the components all look to be really high quality, and it just looks like a fun little truck in general. I'm building it tonight, I'll post later when I'm done.
BTW, I got it for $179 at Ray & Robin's in Portland ME, they had 3 in stock, and didn't even have them put out and priced yet. It's worth paying a little more to support the LHS, IMHO. (hows that for gratuitous use of Acronyms? :)

01-25-2004, 01:12 PM
I got it finished today, I would say it took a total of about 6 hours to build, I'd say I'm a fairly fast builder, but I do pay a lot of attention to the details, so I sand down parts to get them to fit right, and remove all flashing etc, so if you just throw it together, It'll probably take you around 4 hours.
The build was enjoyable, typical Tamiya, great instructions, parts that fit well, and lots of small bits. I put a sealed can 540 Mabuchi in it, since I'm not to concerned with speed, more battery life and crawling. 2WS, because I only had one servo handy, and everything stock.
My impression is that it's damn cool! I'm running it on a 7.4v 1500mah 2s1p LiPoly Kokam battery from one of my planes, and it has plenty of power. It needs 4WS to run inside, as the turning radius is pretty large with 2WS. It has a large amount of articulation, and will climb over most things, but it really needs at least the rear diff locked to be a truly good climber, and maybe the front as well. It is truly a Monster Truck, and I did a little car crushing with my collection of 1/18th scale DieCasts, and it can climb right up and over them, as well as my MiniZ and X-Mods. In all it's a fun little truck, I'm glad I got it.

nice review!
im deciding whether to get this or a mini-t
a few questions
is there a battery pack and stock motor supplied in the kit?
and is the ground clearance an issue with climbing?
thanks
eurylokhos
01-25-2004, 05:45 PM
It doesn't come with any electronics including battery and motor. Just the rolling chassis. I was looking at both he Mini_t and the TLT as well, and while the Mini-T was cool, it wasn't something that I really had to have. The Mini T is more of a track type vehicle, and just driving it around a room didn't do anything for me, even if it was cool. Mainly because it wouldn't climb things, it was just a go fast type of vehicle, and in my house I don't have a stadium track! Where as the TLT is a crawler/climber. Which is what I do when I'm driving around the house. I'm climbing over dog bones, and everything else in the place.
It's pretty easy to get it to climb over anything, and the low clearance isn't too much of a factor. It is a factor, but not too bad. I'm planning on making new links and searching for new dogbones to stretch it out a little and increase clearance. But as it sits stock, you have to climb things like with a larger truck or a full size truck, hit it at an angle, and slowly power over it, and it'll keep a tire on the object the whole time. Works like a charm for me. I really enjoy driving it, I need to buy another servo to convert to 4ws, and lock up the rear diff, and tighten the center ball diff.
It's pretty heavy, I don't know the exact weight, but it feels about the same as a 1/10th stadium truck, and that's with a LiPoly battery in it, which weighs about a quarter what the Tamiya battery does.
jchung

one more question
since its so heavy, does the mabuchi 540 supply enough power for it?
eurylokhos

Yeah, it doesn't have a problem moving it. Also, the truck uses standard pinions and spurs, so you can always tune the gearing to match the motor you use.

standart means 48dP??
Is it possible to change the spur gear for a 48 if the stock isn't?

eurylokhos
01-26-2004, 09:35 AM
No, it's a standard 32p gearset, but the spur and pinion aren't anything proprietary, so you should be able to swap it out with a 48p, which is something I'm going to do whenever I get around to tear it down and lock the diffs.

01-26-2004, 10:02 AM
thanks;) hmm strange...32Dp...thought it would me tamiya's size.
It seems that it s not possible to remove the cantilever...wanted to mount some B2/B3 front shocks directly from the chassy to the axles...
:( the pushing rods look very small.
eurylokhos
01-26-2004, 10:12 AM
You cold take the cants off very easily, I don't know exactly why you would, but I'd bet it'd take me less than 5 minutes to convert it to direct shocks instead of cantilevers. I'd lose a ton of articulation, but I could do it. Also, the whole truck is pretty beefy. Those pushrods are more than large enough for this truck. I don't anticipate bending them.
utieh
01-26-2004, 10:20 AM
wanted to remove them b/c it looks a little bit more realistic
If I get one, I will make a custom carbon fibre chassis...with higher holes to place the shocks... but it seems that it won't be enough so perhaps there is another place to fix the shocks on the axles.
Does someone know what is the diameter of the Twin detonators wheels/tires??
DCLXVI
01-26-2004, 12:37 PM

I haven't done it yet, but I am going to when I get around to tearing the truck down. Reason being, I can't tighten it down enough to keep it from slipping too easily. I'm also locking the rear diff.
BloodClod
01-28-2004, 11:47 PM
I've locked mine quite successfully. Went to the plumbing section in the hardware store to pick up some rubber washers the same size as the metal rings in the diff. Removed the metal rings and diff balls and used the washers instead. I also took out the thrust bearing and then tightened the whole assembly all the way.
Performance is MUCH better. Crawls significantly better because there are always 2 wheels turning at any one time, and it even wheelies with the stock 540 motor. Turning radius is NOT affected (I'm running 4WS).
Hope that helps.

the guys and I at West Valley Hobbies have had ours for about 2 weeks now, to date we have gotten like 6 or more of them in stock. With Mike's (My manager's) we have lengthened the wheelbase, lifted it, and we are using 2 HS-85MG's for the steering servo to get the maximum travel. We too are trying to figure out a way to lock the center diff, but the guy's post above looks like a prettty good one, I will have to run it past him. As for locking the diff, the guys and I have found that Silly Putty in our Savage diffs works AWESOME! It still allows for the wheels to diff out, but only very slighty, plus if you want to go back to normal, just pull the putty out, and things are just fine.
Oh, one note to guys interested in the TLT, it needs 20 5x11mm bearings, and 8 5x8mm bearings (optional, for cantilevers). We have our's priced @ 159.99

I've been building r/c's for 25 years now, and this kit is as impressive as any Tamiya kit I've ever built! I think the diff's are well thought out and should be more than strong! Would have finished it today, but waiting on my Radio system and battery!

Tower Hobbies has the TLT listed now as $144, and a late Feb in stock date. The battery pack is $35.

$144?, wow, why the sudden drop of price? its out of stock from its 1st week of release. now its more affordable - even buying the batt pack seperately. i hope rcca has a full review of this truck next issue.

Yeah this truck seems to be selling real good. Now with the price is down, they will be flying of shelves. I think that maybe cause that other hobby retailer had them for $149 is why Tower dropped there price. You still need bearings though.

Darn, and I just bought mine a week ago for $150. So anyways, about the batteries. Are the batteries Sub C type the same size as GP3300's? I'm slowly putting my kit together and it's not looking like I can build my own 3x3 battery from an old GP pack I have laying around. Looks like it'll be too big. So I'm thinking the Tamiya pack is a special type of battery. I'll order one anyways. But would like to know. Thanks...

02-16-2004, 12:13 AM
Actually, I think I just figured it out. I'll make a saddle pack and stack the batteries ontop of each other. They'll fit that way instead of the "Tamiya pack" way. They must be different type of cells.

I think people confuse the Monster Truck term with soo many things. This truck is for clubing. The Mini T is for racing. Kinda like the EMaxx vs the TXT-1. Both are made to do 2 different things.

What steering servos are you guys useing? I've just about got my truck finished (haven't decided on ESC yet) and it appears that the "standard" futaba 3004 servos I put in it won't cut it. I plan to use this truck for crawling around the house so it has to be able to turn the wheels easily when stopped. I think I'm going to need some high torque servos.

I've got standard Futabas, and they work fine, and I also use mine for crawling around the house on carpet with all the diffs locked.

I've finished my TLT-1 today and took it for a test drive around the living room. This thing is great! First, it's got tons of power even with just a stock, silver can 540. I'm going to have to gear WAY down to be able to control it in the house. You have to lock the center diff or you'll get stuck easy. After you lock it though, watch out! It will flip itself over if I punch it! Wheelies are NO problem. The 4ws is great. I'm using my 3PK so I've got my PMix set up and controlled by the thumb switch. It's so cool to be able to switch the rear steering on and off :). All I've got left to do now is paint. I've been thinking about a Tonka theme since it's the same size as some of my sons trucks.
If you've been thinking about buying this truck, go get it. You won't be sorry. It's an absolute blast stock and when the aftermarket parts start rolling in, watch out!

Still waiting to finish up my kit. Had to order a reversable esc since all mine are race ones. Plus ordered another "cheaper" 3channel receiver for it to use with my 3PK. I was gonna use the 4WS too AceCoolie. Shoulds like a good idea for programming in the thumb button. I think I'll do that as well. :D I also ordered another body for it. One will have a hole in the windshield for a mini cam. Then I can drive it around the house from my room... ;)

I have mine set up identically on my 3pk. It works great, when the truck is going fast, you can have it steer with the front only for stability, for crawling, have the rear wheels pitch in. You're going to love it. I had to buy a cheap ESC too, I ended up getting an Mtronics from Hobby People for $27, and it works great, I also use a silver can 540 and a Hitec HFS-03 receiver, the package works great, and with the diffs locked, it'll climb anything.

Here are the pics of mine. I am using my 3PK radio to use 4WS. My thumb button controls Mix1 for tight turning. My finger button controls Mix2 for side scrolling. It's pretty cool. I also use 6cell GP3300s and a Black Can Mabuchi motor for tons of run time! I'm using the Quantum Reverse Sport.
In the first pic you can see my wireless cam inside the cab! It works pretty good. I can drive the truck outside around the house just sitting down and watching tv from the living room.
http://kilruf.com/remotecontrol/tlt1/tlt1a.jpg
In this 2nd pic you can see my battery configuration to make the GP3300s fit. I just stacked a saddle pack ontop of each other and shrink wrapped it. Works great.

Here is my Tamiya TLT-1 along side this years Mod Clod entry to our Monster Jam Competition here in Hawaii.
TLT 1 is running a 15T motor with locked front and rear diffs. Li Ploymer batteries power this little monster. Imex pullers were on during the pics to match my TTR Clodbuster, since changed to Imex G Hawgs. A more low profile tire and better turning. 4WS and Servo mixed with my 3PK. Button on the handle of the 3PK controls the and locks out the rear steering for better turning and can lock it out on the straights.

Here is another...
MonsterTech Graphite Chassis is on its way to make for a lighter and better looking TLT 1.
Race on...
I tried out a few different gear combinations on my TLT-1 and found some things out: the lowest gearing you can put on the TLT-1 without modifying anything is 96/15 in 48 pitch. If you cut the upper slot on the motor plate you can get a 96/13 in there but the motor hits the plastic supports. Removing a little material from the supports will allow you to use a 12T pinion but I did not do this.

What mods have you done to your Rockbuster?
In mine I have 4ws, and I locked the center diff with epoxy when I was building it. I tried filling the diffs with 10k weight oil but no luck, they are leaking out. Right now for electronics I have a crappy orion stock motor, Novak XXL, novak fusion ESC, and a 3000 pack. My new battery and ESC will be coming in this week. I will then put in a nice 19t.
Is there anything that can be done to make this a sweet rock crawler? the clearance sucks and gets hung up on stuff.

Just thought I'd throw my week old TLT-1 in here.
Here is the equipment and mods so far (center chassis height is now 2.25" and total length is approx. 13.5")
-Raised .75" and lengthend 1.5"
-Full bearing kit (just installed)
-Electronics centered on the chassis, using RPM Stampede ESC mounting plate
-IMEX G-Hawg tires
-HPI RS4 MT wheels
-Integy 55T Lathe motor (awesome torque and loooong run times)
-Mtroniks Sport RV Max ESC (waterproof if needed :D )
-JR Z590m steering servo (soon to be one on the back end as well)
-I'm going to use a GP3300 saddle pack in the near future (I just have to dissasemble one of my current pack or purchase a saddle pack for it)
All differentials are locked for climbing (it's a rockcrawler, just 1/18th the size :p )
I have other things in mind for it, maybe a longer stretch, maybe a custom made 3 gear gearbox and a few other small ideas.

Believe it or not, I'd like a little more. I may play witht the suspension a little to try and get 90 degree articulation. I think it can be done, if I just mess with my shocks a little (I've got 5mm of travel limiters in them right now).

Your's is very nice too, maybe you should try mounting the shocks on the links? I tried it with the stock shocks, it could acheive 90deg artic., but it was not enough to support the truck's weight, so I changed to this setup with tmaxx shocks. But I haven't tried mounting these shocks on the link yet.

Maxxcrazy,
My wheelbase now measures 11" axle to axle and 15.5" from tire to tire. BTW, Nice action shots, I really need to get some of mine crawling along.
I also switched my gearing to a regular 48 pitch gearing instead of 48 metric. I'm now running a 93 tooth spur gear and a 20 tooth pinion. It's slowed my top speed down to around 4 mph, but has made it a better crawler.
I also installed a Sanyo 2400 saddle pack on mine and ran for about an hour yesterday and still had 400 mAh left at 5.4 volt discharge.
Here is a picture of mine next to my T4

06-21-2004, 07:42 PM
Here is a picture of my battery mounting.
The side option you choose is interesting. I've seen a similar mounting method elsewhere but they had theirs mounted on the bottom center of the chassis in the same fashing. That would really drop the center of gravity. I'm guessing you have yours mounted on the front of the chassis? That should keep the front end down and help a lot with climbing.
Maxxcrazy
06-21-2004, 08:39 PM
I wish those shots were action shots, I still need a motor and esc.
It looks like you need a new body. I've always thought that stadium style bodys look great on crawlers, and the T4 looks like it has the perfect wheelbase.
Wow, thats great run time. Is that with the 55T lathe motor? I'm considering getting one. Do you need a special ESC to handle it? I want a Futuba 230, I hear it has smooth throttle control
Yes, the batts are at the front of the chassis. It does make it really front heavy, but with the motor out back, weight distrubution should be around 60 front, 40 rear.
End Overend
06-21-2004, 11:20 PM
Yes, that run time is with the 55T lathe motor. You should be able to use any ESC with this motor.
The 55T has several advantages:
1. Lots of torque for a 540 sized motor
2. Extended run times
3. Lower voltage peaks when under load (easier on the ESC)
4. Lower maintenance due to the lower RPM's used
5. Runs strong until the very end of the battery pack (designed to run on low voltage)
6. Great throttle control due to the low RPM's, half throttle is 2 mph so you can slowly work your way up an obstical with out breaking your wheels loose.
The only real dissadvantage is speed. It's almost as slow as grass growing, but it's perfect for crawling. I do still have just enough speed to keep the front end up when jumping off of a rock, which is all I really need.
I've thought about a new body, but in a way I like the little body. It looks very MTish with the little body on it (and looks better in person).
Your weight distribution actually sounds good for crawling and climbing. That will keep the truck from flipping as much on technical or steep assents.
Looks like you have about 2" on me in overall wheelbase, with the longer chassis.
It also looks like you need another servo on your TLT. With a long wheelbase like that, rear steer will be needed, especially if you lock out the differentials. If you want a serious crawler I would highly suggest you lock out all of them, if you haven't done so yet, this made a huge difference on my TLT, but it turned like crap, even with the shorter wheelbase I had before. I had to put a rear servo on to have an acceptable turning radius.
You need a motor and ESC so you can put that puppy to work!!!

Since I last posted I've added the following to my TLT-1:
-Changed the tires to CEN MT2 tires and did some minor cutting to them
-Added some wheel wideners (added 1.5" to the width of the truck)
-Added a belt tensioner to the transmission
-Moved all 6 batteries to the front of the truck
The truck now stands approximately 16.25" long and 12.5" wide, with center clearance of around 2.75"

Hey guys, looking at the TLT. I was wondering if you have to have small size electronics to be able to put them wherever Tamiya recommends on the truck? I have the TEU-101BK ESC that comes with the TT-01 kit and a standard size Futaba reciever (came with a Mag Sport radio). Do you think these would fit the chassis alright? If not, is there an alternate location for them? I think I'll wait for the Max Climber to come out so I can use the stick packs I already have. The only other thing is bearings, I have 20 5x11's I could steal from my TT-01 and TL01 but what is the other required size and how many of them? Thanks for any info.
