I have a tmaxx that use to have a .15 in it now it has a 2.5 and I bought the linkage kit and the bellcrank for this engine to work. I installed it last night and ended up with a very serious worry and then a very bad problem.

The linkage coming from the throttle/brake servo goes to the belcrank and then from the bellcrank it goes to the slide carb. well when I held the throttle wide open the belcrank went to far and actually held the throttle all the way open and it couldn't be reversed by the servo. I had to move it back by hand. and then it got worse after I adjusted it on the server horn. I thought it was ok. but then it happend again and the truck came at me at wot and well that didn't tickle!! And the linkage that comes from the bellcrank to the carb actually made contact with the spur gear and I have a rrp hardended spur that almost burnt right through the throttle linkage.

And I used the template off of traxxas's site to drill the holes for the belcrank. I double checked it a few times before I drilled the holes. and I'm pretty sure that is correct.

So what I want to know is has anyone had this problem or is it a flook? Is there a way to mount the throttle/brake servo so that I can eliminate the belcrank all together? Or is there some other method that might work to resolve my delema?

If anyone can help please help me out on this one. if you have pics that would really help or links to info on how I might resolve this issue.

thx.

I had this some prob with my Sirio .18 powered maxx, its nasty when you have to catch your truck with ur leg.

Heres a tip. Turn your throttle servo around so that the horn is closer to the engine. the adjust your linkages until your bellcrank faces more to teh direction of teh engine and make sure it cant jump around at full throttle. Since i did this my throttle hasent stuck once.

Hope this gets ya running again.

Well I ended up resolving it today. It was just that the linkage from the carb needed to go onto of the horn on the blecrank and not on the bottom and I needed to unscrew the cap end further also. and now everything is good. But I busted a rear driveshaft! so it might have worked to well :>

thx though.
