ok i just got my p/s back from osrocket..he renewed it for me.
the 2.5 engine is all back together..but the p/s are tight as heck!
i have a pullstart on it cause i want my truck as light as possible..
anyways to make a long story short..i couldnt get it started today...i was pulling on the cord until my knucles are bleeding and
i feel like a pitched all 9 innings of the world series! lol
WHATS THE BEST WAY TO BE ABLE TO CRANK THIS BABY OVER? should i loosen the glow plug? heat the engine with a hair dryer??? someone help out..thanks

you could try heating the engine using hair dryer first. and after that loosen up the plug. or the best way is buy a starter box.

I wear a leather "working" glove when I used the pull start so I wouldn't cut my knuckles up or get blisters.
I would do what is suggested in the above post. What I did was put a few drops of after-run oil in mine too.
After a couple of tanks its loose enough to use a starter box.

After run oil from the start...make sure the plug is new and working...make sure you have fuel primed right up to the carb...make sure the carb settings are such that your getting enough fuel...then give her hell.

loosen the screws on the pullstart just a bit... that usually makes it easier to turn...

i use my pull start every time. Most times my engine will start within 1-3 pulls. If your engine is tuned right it should take a couple of pulls. If your engine does not start after a few pulls it will be flooded. This is when the pull starter gets real hard to pull. Don't keep pulling. Loosen your glow plug a bit to release pressure and then start it. If it starts let it run a second and retighten the glow plug. If you still can't get it started then you either have a bad glow plug, or a carb adjustment issue. It may be a simple as your idle speed adjustment. When starting your vehicle cold it may help it you turn your throttle servo up a little to give it more gas. When the engine starts return to normal setting

that sucks.. i really don't like pullstarts anymore. i just got my sirio .27 not too long ago and put it in my savage... my hands were a blistered, bloody mess after i got it started. but i found it easier to heat it up w/a blow dryer, loosen the plug a bit, use some engine lube (i personally use after run oil), prime it good, and i usually open the carb a LITTLE bit above idle until it fires up. also i found out that you can modify a rotostart to fit damn near any engine if you start hating pullstarts as much as i do. the p/s on my .27 was a big piece of junk, it kept breaking, so i just modded a roto start on it and its good now. later

set it back to factory settings, charge glow starter, get a new glow plug, and make sure the fuel is getting there...if you have your idle adjusted properly it will fire up in a few pulls, why people think pulling on it 30 times is gonna do more than pulling on it 5 times, is beyond me, but if your fingers enjoy it, go for it.

well i tried to touch all bases and the truck still wont start!
i made sure glow plug was new, glow igniter charged, heated the block with hair dryer, topped it off with fuel and still nothing..hard to fugging pull....i know im gonna break the pullstart soon...this thing is tight!
anyways... i believe i know what the problem is....
to make a long story short...i recently moved from FL to NY
and my truck and "fuel" were in NY storage for like a month..so im sure the fuel was seriously cold "frozen?"
im not sure but i believe the fuel will lose ceratin chemicals if not kept at room temp?? correct?
well im gonna buy some new fuel and try again... wish me luck

R-MAXX, I'd try some new fuel just to be sure. I don't know about subjecting fuel to colder temperatures, but going from cold to warm can produce condensation, which isn't good. You've covered all the bases so far, so clear your fuel lines and fill up with some new fuel.

And easier to break or come apart, too! Put that one in the "Don't try this at home" category.

The fuel won't lose any chemicals, but they will separate-oil, nitro, etc. Coming from warm FL to cold NY will also cause condensation as kitty suggested. Clear fuel out of lines, also I would remove both needles and clean the carb out to make sure and the first time you start it if its tight , loosen the glow plug about 1/4 turn to start it , then tighten the plug and bring the idle up. Tightness should go away within two or three tanks.
