Help My novak 5800 smoked!

I just received my novak ss 5800 system off of ebay. It was used a few times is what the auction says. I instal it in my brand new xxx ke and plug in a battery. When i hit the throttle all i got was a crackling-poping noise and white smoke. The orange wire from the motor even disoldered from the ESC. I emailed teh guy and novak. The guy says its not hsi responsibilty cuz it worked b4. I havnt gotten a response from nvak yet.

is this thing shot? What should i do, the guy said he send me the receipt..

Give him negative feedback... he has the receipts and original warranty stuff so let him deal with it.

If you already gave him positive feedback, let this be a lesson - always test the items before leaving feedback. And if this is the case, then get the receipts and stuff and send it back to Novak.

no he gave me feedback so i dont have to worry about negative retaliation(thats what stops most5 ppl from leaving neg feedback) after i leave him some. He has like 40 positives and thisl be his first neg... im ganna wait till he sends me the paperwork first :)

did he have the reciept and still under the 120 day warranty??? I bought mine off ebay also, but it was brand new sealed in box. I put it in my triple XXXt also and it smoked and was put into Flames. It was cool, but sad at the same time :p I had to send mine in too that was 2 weeks ago I think. I dont think Charlie works on Sat cause I work 6 days/week. After two incidents in my triple XXX I sold the triple. I went through two SS5800.

yeah i was pretty mad, he claims its only 2 month old so thats good. I bought a lehner 5300/warrior setup too. It hasnt come yet but should I put taht in my xxx instead of the novak? I'm getting an xray and I was going to put the lehner in taht but i may switch it around. Basicly Im hoping that was a fluke because I want the xray to be the fastest it can be and i think the lehner is faster.

It is from what I have seen the 5300 is a monster pushing a rustler to 66 MPH on 10 cells and a hacker C40 pushed one to 61 on 12 so they may even be faster than hacker motors!:eek: I would put the Lehner in the X-Ray so it is more stable.
