Hey guys after consideration and thought (and a good bashin buddy out the hobby (rcracer2471) i am thinking about doing something different with my truck. I was thinking of either 2 things.
A custom nitro rock-crawler with clod-buster style suspension
A off-road race maxx
The custom crawler would mean me lowering my tranny, making all the chassis braces parts and designing the new suspension.
The off-raod race maxx would let me fufill my dreams to get into races, high tourque servo, forward only, better radio, new tires, etc.

I need somthing to spice up my maxx life. I would like to start racing. And i would like to start crawlin.

I'd make it a race-Maxx because crawling and nitro don't go hand-in-hand.

same here ive had my maxx for almot 3 years now they do actually get sorta* boring :p so I did some custom work to my chassis like re-arranging stuff and did something no one else has done or at least share it on the web once i get pics ill post em :D

Mudcow is elecrtic. Im talking Nitro Crawlers. With SUPER low gearing. That low of a gearing would allow me to Increase my idle bigtime (making idle a breeze) and some lightwieght clutch shoes (engage late). 4 wheel steering and maybe solid axle suspesnion from a clod or something.

I'd say make the rock crawler, its original. Better hurry after I finish my nitro, oops GAS powered huge metal whatever scale, then I'm gonna try and make a crawler max myself.

Heres what I was thinking for a sweet rock crawler.

Get a strobe slipper and a 1/8 clutch for what ever engine you use, and get steel RRP trans gears and 1/8 scale diffs. The 1/8 scale diffs would be great, I got some and they can handle power, I'd also keep reverse, ever crawler needs it.

There really is not a way to lower the maxx trans any, so I'd keep everything on the chassis the same. and take off the lower braces, screw the trans back on and take off front and rear diff/bilkheads/all suspension, and build it from there.

I got some 1/8 scale diff case's for the maxx I'm looking to get rid of (PM me). They are strong and square, you can build something to hold the diff case to the axle carriers cuz the diff case's have flat surface area, good for easy building and designing. And you can get 1/8 scale diffs to fit my case's for like 15 bucks from ebay. RC Alloys has the best shafts, got 6 myself, and they can take a beating.

What ever you do, get your drive train figured out , and build around that. Then your not backtracking in your building any, will go smoothly to build.
