Near the middle of Pa, MC? Harrisburg area? Try looking in the Yellow Pages for METALS. You should be able to plenty of places that have aluminum plate. BTW, 1/4" is plate, not sheet, tho, it's sold by the sheet.:D :D
You might also try this place: http://www.industrialmetalsales.com/index.html
They have very good prices.
Even this place: http://onlinemetals.com/
You could even do a search on eBay for FORTAL. This is 7075 alloy. I've bough "a ton" of it and at the prices they ask, you can't beat it. Now, whether they carry .250", I don't know. The sizes that are shown, tho, you could call them, are "offbeat" sizes, some with scratches, gouges, in general, imperfections. Worth a look!
I take it you are going to build a MT Crawler from scratch? Way to go!!

thanks for the support and as for surface scratches ill just qrind it and wire brush it to some degree of shine. and as for the ebay metals id buy from ebay but mother took my plastics away from me :( is 600 too much for 3 items? and yes ill probably be building maybe 2 crawlers. 1 in a bout a 1/10 scale and maybe one about a smaller scale. jsut wondering jack what axles did you use on your pie wagon? and would clod axles be a good choice for more sand runing and hill climbing then rock crawling?

MC, the front-end & rear-ends were machined; as for the axles themselves, they are OFNA.
The 600 that you mention, would that be $600 for 3 items and would that be alloy items? For $600, you could literally buy a truckload!
For clod axles, try going here: www.rc4wd.com. Tons of clod stuff here.
(MC, thought that I'd answer your PM here as it might help others as well)
