Hey surfinkiwi,

If you go to www.pt-boat.com, you can get some there. You just need to follow the instructions on the bottom of the home page. Basically all it is that you need to do is email the owner of the web site and ask for a password to get some plans. He should email you back within the next day or so with a web address that you can go to, and Download a set of plans in .gif form. You will be able to get the plans for FREE. Everyone else that I have talked to that had plans charged $25-$45 per for a set. Now, the plans are not exactly all their, but the main website should be able to fill in the gaps. And it will give you some pretty good tips for what to do. Hope that this helps. Good Luck!

Thanks for the site, but as it turns out I got impatient and succumb to the temptation of the locall hobby shop and bought the dumas pt kit and am in the ever so process of making it now, will keep everyone up to date with pics as I go.

Before you get too far, check out Howard Enterprises for parts to accessorize the boat. Don't know if they have a website or not, however Frank's Mosquito Boat Hobbies does, and they carry lots of different manufacturers PT boat parts. Their e-mail addres is elcoptboat@earthlink.net

Cheers for the tip Hydro, have made and planked the hull and made the cabins, mast and 50mm okilerion so am well on the way, have been taking pics as I go so will put them on at a later date. Must just say that the Dumas pt109 kit is pretty good but the instructions leave a bit to be desired, got the 1/30 scale. 33" long with a 9" beam. Came with a nice set of blueprints though.

All the kits from Dumas have something that isn't that great. In the case of most kits, it's the wood. It's normally cut wrong or warped beyond use. If it's just the plans, consider yourself lucky :)

I know where you are coming from hydro, this kit is in no way value for money, infact it is out right crap value for dollars spent, could go on and on but you seem to know what I would be on about.

That's only because I've built a couple of Dumas hydroplane kits. Won't ever buy another one either.

surfinkiwi,
How's your PT boat coming along?
I bought the Dumas PT Boat 1/20 scale about 10 years ago and then got surprised by my wife who bought the aftermarket fittings kit from Howard Enterprise (Now Frank's Mosquito Boat). This was a pleasant surprise. My boat has speed700 motors, twin MCD330 speed controllers and flies on the water! With all of the really nice armament and fittings this boat is a real gem! :)

Aloha from Hawaii,
I also have a Dumas pt boat that was unfinished when a friend gave it to me. The boat is set up for nitro power a I just last weekend i got my hands on a os 61 four stroke marine engine. This engine is the same size that dumas did testing on and claims that I could be seeing speeds upto 20 mph? The only problem is i will have make some motor mounts.. Ooh the kit is for the 1/20th scale 48" hull.
