I made a modified science olympiad enlarged to 24" wing span with no outer wing breaks but still with dihedral and no taper. I used the racing champions car rx. as discused earlier. I used the 2 batts from the car which look like nicad's to me and made the actuator with small Radio Shack neodymium magnets and wound the coil with the wire that I unwound from the armature out of the car. There is about 7 ft.on each poll and I didn't use it all but saved out a few feet for wiring the rx to the acturator. I used a KP00 motor in parallel with the rx and a on off switch. I dont know the actuators resistance or wire dia. but it works good and the whole plane came in at 30 gm. P.S. It flys. Tom.

I've finally uploaded some pix of my Tyco/Echarger plane! The plane is from the "Cloud9" plan found in the April issue of RCMICROFLIGHT. I extended the wing to 30 inches and made the wing removable with rubber bands around two CF rod lengths. The total weight with 1 CR2 is 50grams. This is a two channel, non-proportional $40 aircraft!

anyone heard of r-vac or mar vac? cuz i foun a very small steper motor there for a $buck$stepers have two coils inside there cases usually steel but can cut through the spot weld with a razor saw.the motor is about 1/4 by 1/4 inches very small. i bought one and cut it open very carfully and took out two very small coils.about an 8th of an inch wide and 1/4 inch round.i hooked it up to a cs21BB servoe amp doard and used an old sonicare tooth brush head and used one of the two very strong and small magnets and tride it out and it actually worked!
u guys gotta get some of these!there a buck and are very strong when i used the sonicare magnet.
