Is a Hacker C50 = to a B50s, or Is a Hacker C40s = to a B40s?

Ive been thinking of getting a C40 8T s, for my T3, but Since i will be only running on 7.4v 2s4p Lipos, i was woundering if a C50 Would be a better chose, cus ill im hearing is the C40 is good for top end, but has no Torque, and im building a track made of Washout, and will pack the heck out of it so its going to be just like Concreate....

So if you have tryed each , Compare them. R They the Same or not.... :)

As for the power the c40 is little better than the B 40 series due to the better heat transfer, the B50 isnīt recommended for 10th scale, as it will produce too much power, these motors are often found in 8th conversions, the smaller b 40īs will work great in any 10th scale (i used them as my standart motor size for my 10th cars, it always provide me enough power to poutrival a 8T with ease !!
(so why wasting money weight and amp draw with these bigger motors, get a B 40 or similar and that would be a good choice (try a 5000-6000Rpm/V one, youīll be blasted away by the power and speed it could create (if geared right !!)

Yes, the "C" series are simply "B" motors with a cool heat sink can. Also, the C50 has a 3.2mm (1/8) shaft for normal pinions while the B series has 4mm.

I have thought about using a B in a T4... you don't want a C50.

You need to consider the K/V as mr.constructor mentioned, and the C50 is only @ 3000k/v. It is a B5012s basicly. So you need something like a B50 7s with 5200+k/v.

Anyway, I don't think you need to worry about the C40 not being fast. It may not be a "torque" motor, but that doesn't mean it's not fast or powerful. Call Josh at Hacker and ask about it in a truck.. he has run them in all kinds of cars. Maybe you could get the 6 or 7 turn instead of the 8 to make sure you get enough power to make you happy. Then you can gear down a tooth or two and still have all the top end.

Hey, alpine...

im building a track made of Washout, and will pack the heck out of it so its going to be just like Concreate....

Have you experimented with the washout? I ask because I have used it as a base for my concrete garage slab, and have some back behind the garage where I park my old truck. I was told this stuff will pack down hard.... but I found it doesn't really. It does make a nice solid base... it's tough to dig it up by hand... but the surface has always stayed loose, sandy and rocky. It's like dusty gravel.

It might vary depending on what concrete mixes it's from, etc... but the stuff I have wouldn't make a good track, IMO

If it doesn't pack down tight, I would recomend you keep it damp before running on it to keep the dust form eating your car. Gravel or concrete dust is much worse than plain dirt....

Just a thought...

What ESC are you using?

The C40 8 turn I have run in my T-4 is too much motor and especially if you using the Hacker Master Comp ESC that is like an on/off switch compared to a Schulze ESC, but it is still too much motor for most off road tracks and you may want to get a 12 turn to slow it down a little. The 12 turn should be more driveable and smoother on the track. You can have too much power for a 2wd truck making it harder to drive and hook up to the track.

Sometime slower is faster.

Good Luck!
