Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can find "BASIC" beginner information about this grand hobby, electric micro rc airplanes? I am just beginning to remember what an ESC or a BEC is. So how and where do they fit in to the circuitry. This stuff, ready made, times my crew means "home brew" whenever possible :D

I have 13 grandkids and we are using a "Pappy's Flying Circus" and have had a ball with both the plane and the pc simulator. The older ones would like to work something up ourselves. If there are discussions about, with plans or photos, we would all be most thankful.

Oops, we are learning exclusively with rubber and electric power so far. We can build a "SIG" AMA RACER or CUB in an hour out to the grass to fly.

We are reading RCMicroflight's back issues as fast as we can, but I feel like I will never catch up to the kids. This is a steep learning curve from the CL days of .049 and profile planes.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Rich,
the most useful resource I could point you toward is a book by Bob Aberle titled "Getting started in Backyard Flying" It is available from www.rcstore.com
