I would just like to make a thread to show my custom 6x4 Stampede(a.k.a. Project: Stomp). One day I was thinking about how to modify my Stampede. I thought 4x4 would be cool but then thought that it would be like everyone elses 4x4 Pede. So I came up with this, a 6x4 Stampede. I've done alot of work and the truck is still not finished. It has been ran, but drivetrain durability issues came up quickly.

Items installed:
Cold Fusion Chassis(custom)
Swami Bar(custom)
Traxxas/Novak EVX
Traxxas Titans
Pro-Line Mashers
RPM rear bearing carriers
RPM front bearing carriers
RPM gear covers
RPM slingshot wheels
RPM bumper
RPM LXT arms
Duratrax stainless steel 5x11 bearings
1 set of MIP shiny cvd's(to get replaced by slid shafts again)
1 set of RRP sun gears
2 sets of Losi non-threaded aluminum shocks(front and rear)
W.S. Deans plugs
Ofna large servo saver
Traxxas adjustable turnbuckles(front only)
Traxxas e-clip style suspension pins(front only)
Traxxas Big Bore caps(temporary for curren't one set of rear shocks)
Proline heavy duty rod ends
Proline F-150 ext Maxx body

Work currently in planning/progress:
Nylon roll cage
aluminum motor plates

Heres a few pics.

Sorry, I don't have any pics of the build-up of this truck because my camera broke just after I started it and didn't get a new one untill recently.

The body is still being finished up(should be done by tomorrow). Also, I am currently looking for a longer body. I'm currently going to use a Proline F-150 extended Maxx body. If anyone knows of any other bodies besides ones for the Kyosho Landmax and the ones sold at Gallimods.com, please tell me.

Please feel free to post any comments or questions.

how long did it take for you to make that setup?

I've been working on it for 5 months, though nothing was done to it for nearly 2 in the middle. I just think of stuff to do to it and do it in my spare time.

How does it jump?

I haven't had the chance to do my "bash test". So I don't know how it jumps yet. The idlers broke after the first few runs. When the idler in the very rear tranny went, it seized the gear box and wrecked the motor(the comm is distorted). I have to wait for more funds before I can get a pair of aluminum idlers and some new motors.

Are you using the delrin gears? I have tryed them and broke them in half. I have had better luck with the stock parts.

Use a big rig body, like the Pro-line Peterbuilt

Delrin gears? No I haven't. Who makes those?

I was going to use the Peterbuilt, but It would have looked weird. I still might try it later.

Traxxas makes a delrin top gear and aluminum middle gear, but in my opinion they are no good. The delrin top gear broke in half on me twice. It's best to just leave the slipper loose with either set of gears.

Ok, I thought that was nylon or plastic. Yea, when I do order the parts to fix my truck, i'm going to get and use diff balls instead of friction pegs. They will hold up much longer.

Wicked truck man! I saw someone do this a few years back, but it wasn't this well setup.

Just a little tidbit on bodies, you could probably buy a body for RC pulling trucks (you know, those real long ones). I'm not sure who makes them though. Try posting in the Bodies-Painting and Detailing forum for some answers!
