hello,

I`m trying to make a model of my fathers boat becouse he might sell it
and my first try ended up in the garbage becouse of a glueing problem

My dads boat is a 39 foot by 14 comercial fish boat its a double ender and made in the fortys

and I need to find some plans on making a simple rc hull preferably a double ender but normal would be fine too, does anyone know where to find such plans I`ve heard of hull that the out side parts are only 4 peices but after several hour of looking at the internet I came up with nothing.

and if it matters I`m very good at wood work making tables and bowls and such but my dad`s shop only has the basics.

any simple hull plans will help me alot Thanks

is there a way that you can take measurements of your dads boat and then scale it down.If you are good with wood, wait til he hauls it out to have bottom done, then take your measurements every foot.Be detail oriented and write everything down with a sketch.would not take that long, and you would have a replica of your dads boat.

To your original question,I personally do not know where you could get a set of planes. You just might have to scratch build.

Also you could use balsa wood, super glue takes very well and it is quick/almost instant cure.

One thing Hydromania forgot to mention is when you get your measurements, be sure to get angles at any HARD BEND or CORNER. When you get to the point of laying out parts on the wood, or even drawing them on paper, having the angles will give you a way to be sure you have everything layed out right. I did this with a scale model I'm building of the Miss Madison/Oh Boy Oberto. I found that having angles has made building the hydro shoes at the rear of the boat not only easier, but possible. Without having the angles, I wouldn't have been able to do the shoes at all
