I was wondering if i could fish with an RC boat like the vid on the site, looks like fun :) i would probably be fishing for crappie and bass, and unfortunatley i only have a gas and a nitro boat ;o i was wondering if it could work, i would tow the line probably about 20 ft behind the boat and be very careful while turning as not to run over the line again, sounds like fun :)

hello,
Im new to rc but I`m a fisherman and been fishing all my life I suggest you make and out rigger to keep the line away from the prop basicly an reversed "7" so it goes up in the air about an inch then goes back about 2 inches make an "eye" on the end attach the fising line to this.

with this outrigger you can use plugs which would normally drive the line into the prop
I would suggest using a tomic wee tad plug

and if you still worried about the line getting in the prop put a bobber about 5 feet behind the boat and then another 10 to the lure so the bobber dont effect the fishing.

have fun eh

I to am a fisherman,I think that would be cool to see a rc trolling around.I wonder how that would look at our marina if the customers showed up and seen me trolling around the creek. They would probably say I have plum lost my mind.If nothing else it would be a great photo.

A buddy of mine that I use to racce tunnel hulls with had a large scale electric cruiser and fished with it all the time. He had a winch rigged up to a little scale man on the back with a rod and everything. It looked very sweet. He'd leave it in the infield most times while we raced and then he'd bring it in trollin' the whole way.

Once it almost got pulled under by way of a 10" bass....funny stuff to see him freak out when he saw the rear of his boat goin' down. He shut down his tunnel hull and picked up his remote for the cruiser with a quickness, gave it full power and was hopin' the whole time....good stuff... :D

I am not a fisherman but I would love to see some big ass fish take your line and drag your rc boat off into the sunset......

I am sure glad I'm not the only one who thinks up this kinda crazy stuff. If you use a regular pole rigged with say a "rattle trap" type lure or crank bait, and some sort of release once a fish hit it (don't wanna lose the boat). Troll left to right gradually sweeping out (not to get tangled) letting the pole free spin and reeling in as you come back to shore. Why not? You would cover a lot of area without ever casting. As crazy as it sounds it just might work......................God I am crazy!
