:( Anyone With A Nitro Hammer Be Careful When Jumping Waves, and Running A Metal Prop That Is Not Ballanced Properly, That Little .15 Has Enough Torgue To Break A Crankshaft In Half,my Hammer Is Only 4 Months Old With 1.5 Gallons Of Fuel Run Thru It.also A Speed Secret!! Try A .15 Assoiated Rc 10 Gt Carb, It Will Fly! Must Be More Air Flow Or Just A Better Carb Than The Stock One? Maybe The Crank Broke In Half Because Of The Carb? I Had It Running On The Rich Side, Plenty Of Smoke. Oh Well I Get A New Crank And Start Over Again, But This Time No Jumping Waves .

jumping waves witha hammer is not a good idea!!! they don't land well. mine turns to the right in the air and lands quite violently! so i avoid the rough stuff. i may have to check out that carb, i've been trying to eek out all the power i can. what prop did you have on??

I had a octura x435 with some slight modifications, but my ballancing must be a little off? or maybe a bent shaft i ordered some new parts from tower, then ill start over with the mods and better carb.then ill get back to the pond and let you know how it will respond to these mods.

I wonder if your engine could have swallowed some water? If the engine took some water while wave jumping, that might break the crank I suppose.
Here's what happens: Water gets sucked in through the carb, goes into the combustion chamber. The piston comes up, finds incompressible water instead of the air-fuel mixture that's supposed to be there, and stops dead. The flywheel is still trying to drive the crankshaft around, and the first weak link (usually but not always the connecting rod) will break. In your case the crankshaft itself is what broke.
It's worth a thought or two, anyway.

How much was that new carb and where did you get it?

THE answer to the question about the RC 10 GT carb i have a GT, i have been looking at putting the motor in my nitro hammer, but it would have to be air kooled and iam not sure about the flywheel hook up for a prop. but it does run stronger with that GT carb on the hammer motor. :)

What is a Brand New Nitro Hammer motor worth? I have a few Nitros I'm converting to fast electric and don't need the motors.
Thanks
