Want to install a water pump on this unit. Where do you drill and tap engine case for the vaccum fitting. How do you keep metal cuttings out of the case when you drill and tap?
New to the hobby andy info would be a great help.

i don't know much on the gas engines but i've drilled a nitro engine or two. when i drilled my crankcases, i disassembled the engine. this way i could clean all the parts and make sure that no shavings were floating around. it doesn't take a big chunk of metal to eat up the inside of a motor!

Just wanted to add that you can go through the black spacer between the carb and the cylinder. I didn't because I did not have access to a tap & the nipple I had fit the threads on the cylinder so.... lol.
tap the nipple?
sounds like fun

I have the Miss bud with the prather clutch and water pump. and if anyone needs help with the installation I'll be more than glad to help.I'm a toolmaker by trade and have access to everthing and have all the machine in my garage for easy access!I took it out today and ran it for about an hour with no problems at all!! (wish I had video cam.)
I put:
two autobailers on
allum. servo arms
put a bike brake cable for throtle cable. put an additonal return spring on the carb and switch which servo operated the throtle.
I put three foam noodle in the hull evenly cut and placed for ballance and just in case!!

Here is a pic from manulocos site (http://community.webshots.com/photo/139265325/139265511AvIhxv) that has a pic of the tap for the water pump on the carb adapter instead of in the base of the engine. It is where the tap is installed on the PUM260.
