Does anyone know what the, and who makes the biggest Electric ducted fan. I have a prodject I want to try and need some juice. I will go gas but electric would be smoother. :confused:

there are a few manufactors of EDFs out there.
Try doing a search for WeMoTec. I use there Minifan 480 in my FA-18.
The other gear you will need is a motor (brushless) ESC and batteries!
what plane and weight you have will necessitate the application and size of the fan needed.

Schuebeler makes the DS-513PH fan - powered by a Lehner 1950-10 and a 44.4 Volt LiPo pack capable of 65 Amps this fan will turn at 65,000 RPM and produce almost 8 lbs of thrust (35 N) at sea level.

i have always wanted to talk to someone who has a fa-18. did you build it or was it a scrach build.

http://www.gws.com.tw/english/product/powersystem/edf55.htm sorry for newbie question, but if its a scratch build how do you recommend to put an edf such as this onto the model... ive never seen, heard, smelled, or touched an edf in my life before and i was hoping they'd come with a flat side somewhere on it or something where you can drill holes for screws etc...

the biggest edf i ever saw was a converted yellow f-14 to twin eletric the crazy guy who did this was me if you want moor specs on it e-mail me @ azmustangp51@aol.com

Hey f-16flyboy, question? when you mount two fans does one of them have to rotate counter clock wise? Or do they even make a fan like that?
