get a super duty servo and the ofna monster pirate steering servo (tower has it for $18.95, and it comes with ball bearings). throw your servo saver away, and you'll probably want to make a new link from the servo arm to the new servo saver. as the above post says, savage-central can give you all the info you need.

the best steering mod you can make to your sav:
take the stock servo saver, put it on the floor, and beat it with a sledgehammer. then take the stock servo, put it on the floor, and beat it with a sledge as well.

next, purchase the MP servo saver and a Hitec 645 steering servo. one note, you must use a metal geared servo with the mp or you WILL strip the gears.

don't smash the stock steering servo. use it in the place of the throttle/brake servo, and smash the throttle/brake servo if you need the hammer practice. then you get better brakes for free. personally, i save all my servos. never know when you'll need one for a goofball project, like my r/c miniature shopping cart.
