Well got my nitro hammer in the water today and it was a blast. I had it running rich and i was pleased with the performance so i cant wait till i get it tuned better. I just wanted to know were do i draw the lines on too lean? Im new to boats so im kinda lost about that. It seemed to run rather cool today. I could put my hand on the motor for a couple seconds without pain. Could anybody give me an idea about that? Well heres a pic of it after todays run. I had it stall twice in the water and get stuck in the moss. I got it back with a fishing poll. But once i moved to the area without the moss it ran great.

I got a nitro hammer as well.
I found that after running for a while, the rpm drops when you increase the throttle (pull the trigger) then it is too lean. You should richen it a bit.

really? there arent any man-made lakes or anything you should check it out... sometimes i have to have my parents drive me for45 min to get to sutable water...(if lake michigan isent calm)

you should really check because rc boating is very very fun!

I ran it yesterday and it was a blast. Got it tuned good and I ran maybe 6 tanks through before i decided to call it a day. This Nitro hammer sure looks good in the water. Attracts a lot of people when you run it. But i did notice the chine walking or whatever you call it. It never got so bad where you felt you might loose control but it did slow it down a bit. I can definitlly see advantages of boating over cars and trucks. Its a lot easier. And more fun!! Over the weekend ill try to get out to one of the big lakes and take some pictures of it running along our pontoon boat!!

if chine walk becomes a problem for you, try messing with your trim tabs. if they seem like they are not working, it's really easy to make new ones. larger tabs allow more control over the boat. and those stock ones are pretty small.

Nitroguy1,

Did you buy that boat new or used? I couldnt help but notice the neon green tubing (not factory).

I actaully traded one of my nitro trucks for it. It has had about half a gallon through it from the previous owner. I changed out all the fuel line since i poked a hole in the water line trying to get the radio box out. So far that and the high speed, high torque servo have been the only upgrades. ITs been a great boat since i got it.

go and get some foam floatation for your boat. pipe insulation will work, or if you cut a "noodle". also, i recommend that you seal the front bulk head with rtv. i flipped one last summer and it sank with a quickness. my new one, with the foam and RTV will not sink. i've flipped a few times and it stayed right on top of the water.
