I just bought my first rc car. It's a Traxxas Stampede with ESC. I've been running it for about 3 days now. I've got 2 Duratrax Shark 1500 battery packs I've been switching between. My charger is an MRC SuperBrain 959 peak charger. Just today when I charged my batteries, I ran them and I got the truck to the bottom of my driveway and then the battery died. So I switched batteries and got the same result. I tried charging them both again and the same thing happened. Anybody know what's happening or how I can fix it?

Sounds like a typical 959 problem. They tend to heat up and will false peak the batteries not giving them a full charge and doing exactly as you described. But when they peaked were the batteries slightly warm at all or still cool/ambient temp? If so then they didn't charge. Easiest way to solve the problem is to run a fan over/under/around the charger to keep it cool and stop the false peaking from happening. But your batteries should always be slightly warm to the touch when they have charged properly.

They were still cool when the charger said they fully charged. Thanks for the advice. It's much appreciated
