So Ive had my t-maxx for a year now and Ive had to replace plenty of parts so far. Ive always seen threads on this board about busted fuel tanks and thought " How do you bust the fuel tank, Ive never had that problem and I've wrecked the truck pretty bad many times" well lets say my experience in the hobby has just grown! I've busted two fuel tanks in two bash sesions that only lasted 20min a piece UUUUUGH THAT JUST SSSSSSSUCKSS!!!!!!
so has anybody found a way to make a repair that last for any length of time on these plastic fuel tanks or are they just complete trash?????? are there any fuel tank guards that work?? or what have you boys done (other than learn how to drive better) to help get more life out of these tanks?
one other thing, how come no matter how many spare parts I carry with me when I go run the truck I always break the one part I don't have with me??????

we have been using epoxy to glue the broken parts of the tank together. this wil only work if the tank isnt smashed to bits. hope it helps

Yea there just cracked, one is down at the bottom by the pickup spout and really leaks bad. the othe one is cracked along the side and will hold some fuel for a little while.
What Type of epoxy has been working the best (J/B weld, Ect)? and how long can I expect the repair to last? Do I need to dremel away a little material on the crack to give the epoxy a good rough surface to bond to?

If you have the right experience, you can build a tank protector.

Same thing happens to me about the parts. As much as I spend on extra parts, I also always break that one part that I don't have. Murphy's Law I guess.

I didn't. It's just that you could have a fabricator do it, or something like that and attach it by the tank mounting screws

Iv seen a lot go guys use airplane and heli tanks on home made cars. They a lot more durable and work better, the only problem is that you have to use a fuel pump to fill them. I would try making my own tank out of lexan or something first.
