just got my savage 25/best way to break her in ???

hey guys whats up im the proud new owner of a savage 25,the directions are not very detailed in it.what is the best way to break it in and why does it seem like it has no power or speed,top speed is probably about 4 mph the way it is running right now.... :confused: :confused: :confused:

dont run it at full throttel when u get it!!!!!1
put a drop of after run oil in it. then start it and just poddle it around for a tank. then lean it out a little at a time

Since it sounds like you're starting out, I'll give you the break in I tell customers at the LHS I work at who are new to this hobby:

Just run the truck around slowly and DO NOT pass 1/2 throttle on the trigger. When you are in the 1/2 throttle range, do not keep it there for more than 2 or 3 seconds at a time. Just keep an eye on the exhaust and look for a good trail of blue smoke. At the end of each tank, let the engine cool down completely. If possible, try getting the piston to the bottom of the stroke; its pretty much impossible to do this with a Rotostart though.

Its a relatively simple break-in but it still gets the engine up to temp and it gets some load on it. After about 6 or 7 tanks of this break-in, you can begin tuning. At that time, you can begin leaning the high speed needle in 1/8 turn increments until you get good top-end speed and you still see a trail of smoke coming from the exhaust (remember blue smoke = burning oil which is always a good thing in nitro RC).
