I'm installing an O.S. cv-rx .15 on my buddies t-maxx for him. And the clutch setups don't match. Now the reason he bought this engine is because it's a direct drop in bolt in motor. Now I'm being told that I have to cut the crankshaft to make it work? Is this true? False advertisment here? I need help????????????

Yes, you do have to cut the crank, unless he bought the short shaft version.
Don't forget to measure twice and cut once, and the best way to keep the cuttings out of the engine is put the engine in a bag and just poke the crank through before cutting it.
Hope I was some help.

yeah, if you for got to get the (S) "shortshaft" vertion, you will need to cut a bit off the shaft, to make it that same lenght and the other engine

Ok so I have to cut some of the shaft off. I found a good site with great instructions. BUT...how can they call it a drop in motor if you have to cut the shaft to make it work???? Plus, if you screw it up, they're probly not gunna reimburse you or anything of the sort cuz you screwed it up?

- The Short Shaft Model CV-RX (S) - IS a "drop in" replacement
- you just (not knowing) bought the "wrong" one, there have been quite a few people making this mistake - i think the sites should state more clearly that you need the [b]Short Shaft Model[/B**
hope this make it clear, daniel

The guy I'm installing this for bought the engine from a hobby shop and they even cut the shaft. But they're morons and obviously didn't cut it far enough. Not the first time they screwd up, they also ordered a .21 marine engine for his 1/8 buggy, retards I tell ya.
