LOL, man I heard a story about them darn Li-Poly's in a MINI-T, they were going for a minute or 2, then Bang like a un going off, and darn truck burnt too ground. Li-Poly hate getting hot and are very tempermental!! So watch out, charge them very slow, and at the recommended amps. Just my $.02 and you $$$

about charge rates... they are 1C.... ie- if you have a 1200 mah li-po, the max charge rate is 1.2 amps.... a 800 mah li-po max charge rate is .8 amps...
about safety... they need the correct care, which isn't hard to do... be sure and use a li-po specific charger.... and when used properly, they are head and shoulders better than ni-mh or ni-cad cells can ever be.... they are much lighter, have more voltage, have a better discharge curve, and are much smaller... i've used them for months now, and they are just awesome...
if you are running a brushed motor in your micro rs-4, i would suggest the 2 cell li-po pack from United RC.... it's cheap, has killer voltage, and fits awesome in the hpi.... check UnitedRC dot com for all the info on it, including discharge curves, and exact size and weight...

Wow!!!
This sounds just like me about 5 months ago with the 1/10th stadium trucks and Thunder Power Li-Pos!
It's spreading! Don't fight it and go BL and Li-Pos!
Yea!!!! and my name is Tim also!!!

well... my life with li-po has been pretty much all good.... they work much greater than expected in performance, and have been very reliable and safe to me and the other guys i watched use them...
the only problem i've run in to is that some local racers do not want to race against them... last weekend, i raced at a track that allowed a 4wd XXX-4 in the mod 2wd class, but they wouldn't allow thunder power li-po's in the MOD truck class... the race was a non-sanctioned event, just a joe-blow local race, yet they wouldn't allow them... i don't know why some racers and tracks are so resistant to new technology... li-po and BL can only help take this hobby to the next level...

yes. but thats the thing... it takes it to high. You have 20 guys runnin 10x1's, 3600's, and all graphite what not... all their cars as fast as it can go... one guy with a BL and Li Po walks in and just takes them all. Its no fun. Traditonal vs new... no comp. Its just not fair. YOu have the avg people all having fun, then you eather get the rich prick or just a dood whos a prick who walks in and wants to race with Bl... its no race. He takes all... its just not worth it. Mainly if it cost to race, and mainly if there is a prize.

Not to diss ya Sparky but it will take more than some rich prick off the street with Li Po's and a brushless motor to beat the fast guys where I race. ;)
He probably wouldn't beat you either.
