i've had this idea in my head for a while. right now, i don't have the tools or anything to even do it, so i just want to put it out there to see what y'all have to say. the best way to describe it would be an outrigger with full length sponsons. if i had the workshop to do it, i would have already built one just to see, but i live in army barracks! i'm thinking about something in the 24"-28" range with an inboard .21. so, just for the sake of argument, what do you guys think? this is more a matter of curiosity than anything.

Seems like too much wetted surface, you couldn't change the angle of attack, and it would prolly be difficult to turn...just what I would think but you have to try it to find out. Sounds like fun :)

They call them Catamarans or tunnel hulls!
OK, all kidding aside, I think I have an idea of what you're thinking of but maybe not.

the hull that i'm picturing would have a center section like that of an outrigger hydro, and sponsons like a tunnel. just not the "wing" like a tunnel has. but like i said, it's just an idea and i wanted to see what you guys would think. hey, maybe one day, when i have a workshop again i can build one up and spank the everlasting crap out of everyone with it! or, it'll be as slow as a kitty litter box and i'll learn my lesson!

Is this similar to your idea? Keep the idea alive! Do you have a CAD program that you could utilize and give us an idea?

those canards are cool, i'd like to get one one day. but that's not what i was thinking...so here's a rough idea of what i'm thinking, just a top view i guess, i'm not much for drawing these days. but i think it'll give everyone an idea of what i'm talking about.
