I picked one of these up for a nice price but I "think" it may not be complete. I know, but I knew that was a chance when I bought it. Now what I am wondering is if ANYONE out there may still have a set of plans for this thing. The one thing I know I'm missing is the parts list. :(

So, all I need to know is a listing of the parts and or something that will lead me to know what parts I have and what I need. I have no worries about having to fabricat a few parts. Again, kind of expected.

Either way I really intend to use this kit to make a template for making more kits. Psst....don't tell Dumas. ;) ;)

did you try the dumas website? if you use it as a template for future projects, i hope you do a better job than dumas did! both of my kits have been nothing but a bummer to build.

Wait a minute! Did I hear someone dissing Dumas? Just because the parts don't line up and the directions don't tell much doesn't mean the kits are all bad, does it? On second thought, never mind :D

My intent here was to prefit and prebuild the hull making sure that each part fit as nicely as possible and then cut and fit a template\jig for each piece so I can make as many pieces as needed. It sounded like a great idea at the time...until I found out that I may not have all the pieces...and have no way to verify it. ;)

I have asked Dumas but I really don't expect much help from them.

I don't know why. :D

i'm building a dumas hawk right now, it's a kit that i bought a looooong time ago. none of the parts line up and there is a TON of sanding to be done. the sponsons are crap and ARGHHHHHH!!! i hate it!! but i'm going to build it anyway...with a few parts from a firefighter .21! so, anyway, good luck...i know i'll never get one of their kits again!

DOC, CALM DOWN ;) It's not that bad. I made that mistake not once but twice myself:o If you learned from your mistakes like I did, even though it took me doing it twice, this is a good thing :) The 30 inch Pay N' Pak should have told me something, but being young and stupid (I was 19 at the time), I didn't learn. It took talking to guys that KNEW about racing boats picking my 36 inch Atlas to shreds(when I was 24) to teach me DON'T BUY DUMAS!!!!!!! Sooooo, everything since has been SCRATCH BUILT. That way, if it's screwed up, IT'S MY FAULT :D

sorry...i get excited like that sometimes!! ever since i started building my electric rigger (a climate blizzard) i've gotten kinda spoiled. lazer cut all the way!!! once i get back to my workshop (it's in wisconsin, and i'm not) the scratch building will begin. but watch out! i've got something special up my sleeve with this hawk. stay tuned, it could get a little wierd around here. i just have to scrape up the cash to get it together. army pay doesn't mix with expensive hobbies.

I know how that goes :( I was a Navy payclerk for 2.5 years  Please tell me you got past E3 :) At least then you won't be at poverty level :D What do you mean by wierd anyway?

yeah...the e-3 days were a long time ago for me. i've been doing the e-4 thing for way too long though! what do i mean by wierd? once i get the parts that i'm waiting on for my hawk, i'll post a few in-progress building pic's and you guys will see! it's going to remain a secret until then, however.
