Hey guys, please give me your feed back on this thought. What if I attached a piece of hose to the carb, then put a hole in the hatch to run the hose thru and then cut the hose at an angle toward the back to help keep water out of carb.Would this work as a good fresh air setup for the carb?

I Have A Nitro Hammer With A Couple Of Mods Also, I Run A Large Air Scoop That Faces Forward With A 1.5 Hole In The Hatch Then I Formed A Another Piece Of Lexan Thats Half A Circle All The Way Down To The Carb Sort Of Like A Forced Air Induction System Water Does Get In The Carb Some Times But The Benefits Of More Air To The Carb Is Excellent! Also Inlarge The Holes In The Back Of The Hatch To Make Better Air Flow While The Boat Is Moving.

i've tried that before. it didn't make much of a difference. but then again...if you come up with a different way of setting it up, you may just boost the performance a bit.

What about this, a smaller rearward facing scoop inside a larger forward facing one? It would give the ram air effect, while possably blocking most of the water. Think it would work? As I don't have a Hammer, I don't know if there is room enough for if, though I have seen this on some of the full size boats.

i think HJ is on to something here. as a rear facing scoop doen't draw air, and a front facing scoop allows water. but combined...it will probably work. but seeing as how i run mine topless, this is an experiment that i won't be able to test out!
