just out of curiosity...if i was to put a 9 turn double into a 24 in hydro, using 7 cells, where would be a good place to start with props?

Octura X432, X632, X435 (probably too much on a 9 turn), 1732

thanks peter! since i'm still waiting on the mail (that's right...still waiting on that last batch of parts)!!! i decided to help out a friend with a scratch built hydro that's loosely based on your blizzard kit. however, he's crazy and wants to try his 9 turn in it. this motor spins faster than i want to think about it. he had it in a car once and got maybe a minute of run time! so this project could be interesting! on the plus side, if my stuff shows up...my blizzard will be running by the end of the week. she get's clear coat today!! can't wait.

9 turn motor on seven cells is a no-no. Warranty is no good then. You will have a HEAT problem. You say 24" hydro is to big for an 05. What we need here is a picture of boat to make a correct and accurate answer! There is not enough info and second, is your wallet to fat!! This isn't funny cause bigger boat require bigger wallets. I wish i knew who owns this site cause i could give you boats that are not real expensive and are classy and can run 30 mph on 6 cells and are 22' long, one is deep vee and the other is shallow type!!

I see Peter Climate replied; he and Fuller have an El Lobo 2 which is lazer cut and wood and is 22' long. This boat with a Chameleon pro #2110 at 33,000 and a 632 or a 435 and 6 -3300 will need brakes or wings. Wood boats do not sink into the water like fiberglass and ride higher and this combo will give anybody a run for their money. I believe is one of the best bang for your BUCK, cause they are lighter and require less torque. I have a Mutineer with this combo and it plain flies at 22' and is shallow. It has been clocked at 32 mph on six cells ( 2600 cells ).
