Hello guys,
I'm new to this, and I want to purchase an electric rc all wheel drive buggy or truck. I have $500 to spend for a RTR set up. Any suggestions on what to buy? and where to buy it?
Thanks

WOW!!! The RTR savage 25 looks cool and I really like that Revo.
What do those things cost?

wow there horsie :p , your going too fast, those 2 trucks work on nitro... are you sure you want to start with it? going electric first may be easier.
your budget will cover either truck though the Revo isn't out on the market yet.
check out www.towerhobbies.com for prices on various things.

Back when I was a kid, I had the Kyosho turbo vanning.
That was the baddest (I thought so) it was all wheel drive, aluminum chassis and roll cage. went abut 40mph. WOuld like to get something like that.
In fact my parents still have the vanning. Its about 20 years old now, I wonder if it's worth re habing?

The first thing I would do is go to your Local Hobby Shop and find out what they sell the most of and what they stock parts for, it will make things easier. You don't want to be waiting for some special order parts to come in when you break something. If you have something that other people have, if you break something usually someone that has the samething as you will let you buy the part if they have it. Good luck and have fun.

Well, it sounds like you want offroad. Have you checked out RCCA's special edition mags? They have one for Monster Trucks out this month. I'm sure they have buggies and racing trucks too. Or go to your local bookstore, Borders, Barnes and Noble, whatever, and read a few of the RC mags they carry. (I say bookstore cuz you can sit at the cafe and read before you buy.)If you read something you like then look at the ads and go online to compare prices.
Electric is definitely the way to go for a newb. Decide wether you plan on racing or bashing, and then come back. We can help you from there.
By the way, WELCOME!

Whats bashing?

Sorry. Bashing means pretty much anything BUT racing. You know, driving on the street, in your yard, at the local park.
If you plan on racing, Losi and Associated make the strongest racing buggies and trucks. But if you plan on bashing, pretty much anything that tickles your fancy is up for grabs. Usually monsters make great bashers. But read up a little before you make up your mind.

electric are great, just plug and play, but if you have 500$ to go from then you have plenty to go super fast.
I say stay away from 1/10 scale on road cars, "pan cars" are what they are reffered to as, they are generaly only 1/4 inch off the ground clearence, and can not take cracks in the side walk or bumpy parking lots, actually , I have one, only its the fastest nitro on road sedan out, schumacher nitro fusion, .21 engine and 3 speed auto shifting tranny, = 80 mph, but I have absolutely no where to drive it, so it just sits on the shelf, wating for me to find space to run it,
I also have a 1/8 scale buggy, and its one of my favorite toys
a company coming out with a new 1/10 scale all wheel drive rc car is MRC, ill be back with the link, it looks killer, and its a good price, the only thing I can think bad about that car is the parts avalibility, so u might be stuck ordering parts for it on line or over the phone,

Super Nova....Welcome to this exiting hobby.
My best advice to you for now is...surf the forums!!
Get yourself familiar with what is out there on the market.
I am (still) new to. I myself bought a RC10GT, and boy,o,boy is it awesome!! I spend weeks of surfing on the internet to see what the hobby is about.
What I did learn quick, is to do some homework first to avoid questions that have been asked so many times. As you will find, EVERYONE will help you out till the best of their knowledge, but it would be smart to research your new addiction a little bit to avoid same questions over and over.
Again...welcome..enjoy...and have fun!
