Hi,
Im new to rc boats (been into rc trucks for ages) and im trying to figure out what to get for my first boat. i live in australia, next to the sea and want a boat that i can use in salt water, and something that can handle waves up to about 2-3 feet. my idea is some kind of deep vee that i will be able to jump over swells with (monster truck style :D :D ) price and size dont matter too much.
Any ideas?
cheers

With the conditions you say nothing will handle that big of waves. You may want to go over to http://pub208.ezboard.com/bjimsrcboatdock and ask in there.

nothing can handle it at full speed that is. I used to live next to the ocean too. If u plan to run it along shore where the waves are rolling then that would be a waste of good $$'s, but if you r going to run it off shore in the big waves that just go up and down, and dont plan to open it up, then any big boat will do. I read somewhere though that if you plan to use it in salt water that u should go with an air cooled engine. Or U can get custom parts made from stainless that water will be passing through. On my site (http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/h/hellen.pilgrim/) are a couple of boat builder links. take a look at those and see if any will do. None of them are recommend for 3 foot waves, but if U can control yourself in waves like that then they can be a lot of fun. I know I would love to be able to take my boat back home and run it in the ocean.
