Which would you buy?
JR RX3i or the Airtronics MX3?
Anybody use JR radios?

Either radio is a good choise. I would look at the environment you will be using it in. The Airtronics has a PPM mode not listed on the JR, which might be desirable in high interference areas. If the Airtronics has nicads, I would probably go that way, due to the PPM capability. If nicads are not an option on the Airtronics, I would go the JR, as nicads will pay for themselves over time in not having to buy 12 AA batteries every time you go out.

I've got an XR-3, not the "i" version. If you want to use the 3rd channel for a remote needle, forget it. It's really slow and too slow for just about anything useful. It does have a ton of features, more than I know what to do with.
What are you looking for in a new radio system?

Right now I'm running 2 boats off an AM radio that came with my first boat.
I'm building a 3rd boat now and want to upgrade to FM.
All my boats are electric.
As far as features, either radio will probably have more than I'll know what to do with.
I'm the only person I know that runs boats so I have never ran around other boats.
The truth is I just want a fancier radio. :)
