You dont NEED anything to start it with the box. You only have to get that stuff to lower the CG (center of gravity) and to get the flywheel level with the bottom so it can make better contact.

I dont know if the AE one is the BEST but i got it and it starts it every time without hesitation, i got a os .12 tr in mine and it has no probs turning it over with the hobbico 12V 7amp batt.
If you do get the non-pull engine mounts then you can NOT have a pull start engine because there wont be space for the pull start assembly.
However with a non pull you can use the old stuff and it will work fine.

Only you, Krasi ...
Anyway, he's right you don't need to do anything to use a starter box. However, the non pullstart flywheel and engine mounts do lower the center of gravity and reduce the amount of angular acceleration on the flywheel, giving both better handling and acceleration.
But I used a starter box on my car with the pullstart mounts and flywheel with no trouble whatsoever. I use the Duratrax blue box myself. No trouble whatsoever.
