Ive gotten a little tired of trucks lately and needed something new so I bought a 1/12 miss bud. I have a few questions and am hoping for any info I can get on this. First Id like to ask if the lubricants in standard car/truck nitro fuel are acceptable for a marine engine? I think I heard once that there is another fuel that should be ran in a marine engine. Since I am new to boats Im a little worried about break in. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to do it aside from what the manual says? I havent received the boat yet so havent read tha manuals.
Does anyone have a some useful information to this boat for a beginner as to what should be done before running that the manual doesnt list?
Thanks in advance
Carl

The boat WILL run at just above plane speed and that is a good rpm range to break in the motor.

I've heard that if you run 15% lubricant you should be fine. It would probably help you to do a search of the site for info on the nitro Bud. I'm sure you get all your questions answered

I've had my Miss Bud 1/12 for about a month now, took about 5 tanks to break in, by the mfr recommended method of running as rich as possible. Hotter glow plugs helped a lot, and I've had great results w/ the octura y535 prop. I adjust the carb richer and richer until it won't start, then lean it out a little, run 1/2 tank full, lean it out a slight bit, run another 1/2 tank, and so on....hope this helps
