got my new hull today

well i got my 55" scarab hull today and was messing around with graphix

the boat is going to be a candy orange with pearl in it

the OUTER set of flames (outlined in red )will be green to blue color changing paint

the inner set of flames (outlined in blue) will be base color (orange)

lettering im not sure yet ALTHOUGH im digging the purple

maybe i could use that for the shadow around the letters

colors or grafix arent set in stone yet

as i said i was just screwing around with it a little

still open for opinions

boat still needs sanded bondoed stringers installed etc etc

I like the name and the flames, but I think it would work better with the name going down the side of the boat. To me, it looks like the letters are competing with the flames and almost getting lost. It's your boat, so if you are set on this scheme, have fun. Just thought I would throw in my two cents :)

u know i had originally thought of that BUT freeboard on the boat is REALLY low

like maybe 3" max

youre right tho about it getting lost

im thinking about erasing the center section of flames and just keeping the outer ones

Well then, how about this. Run the letters for crush toward the bow, instead of across the deck. It would put the name in more of a "T" shape. What do you think?

looking at that reminds me of a getting a tattoo. i've got 16 of 'em!!! they never look right until they're done! go with what feels right. i like it, it looks good!

I never said it didn't. In my case, though, I'm not a big fan of flames. Some look good when done, some don't. I just said the lettering was being overpowered by the flames IN MY OPINION.

Now I know why you're in the Army.......YOU LIKE PAIN :D

well glassed the stringers in last nite

1/4 birch ply set on 5 1/8

on the NEXT boat if im looking at hulls without the stringers already installed somebody please smack me upside the head

jeebus h what a PITA!!!

but theyre in hulls mostly sanded down should have a coat or 2 of primer on it today and be ready for paint

i still need an engine and a bunch of nickle and dime hardware

double dog has my engine im just waiting for my ebay sales to end so i have the EXTRA cash for that

then i still need a radio box 1/4 scale servo some linkage etc etc

hey has anyone ever run the zenoah throttle cable kit from WHH???

looks pretty nice and i was wondering how well it works

i sketched out your "T" idea with only one set of flames
looks REALLY good i think im gonna go with that

the main reason for the 2nd set of flames was to fill the open area of the deck but the lettering does a great job of that

ill keep you guys posted and probably pick your brains some more as it comes together
