banshee or matrix kit from climate: around $80
hardware from fuller's: around $150
24 gp 3300 matched cells: $240
going over 100mph: priceless!!!!

your best bet would be to call climate and see what they suggest, also talk to fine design. i'm sure if you have the money to spend, they will help you go fast! they are very good at what they do, and my experience with both companies has been great. you can call fuller's for the hardware. just watch out...those guys love giving advice, so you may run up a phone bill :D

Joerg M. Holds the record of having the fastest RC boat in the world... He was awarded the RumRunner Cup at the SAWs two years ago for breaking the 100 MPH barrier... He upped that speed considerably this past year at Legg Lake in California...

Bottom line, 100 is a dangerous number if the boat isn't run on perfectly flat water with plenty of room to ramp the speed up and down...

Also if it isn't professionaly set up brushless ESCs get to be really expensive...

Good luck with the hunt for more speed...

It truly is addictive... Trust me on this one, I've fried my share of controllers in the quest for a faster rigger...

Laters,
Bry

speaking of going fast...a friend of mine is building a 32 cell 'rigger right now. he's using the same motor and speed control as Joerg's boat. the hull is kinda based on the same design too. with his skill on electric power and his deep pocket book, i'm sure this boat will screeeeeeeeeam!!! does anyone know of any SAW events in the georgia/florida region later this summer? i'd love to go and get an official time on this boat once he finishes it. i just wish i had the $$$$ to get him to build one for me!

i just thought of another way to go over 100mph!!!!! go to the store and buy a few 6 packs of your favorite brew. then, grab your significant other's credit card and start buying all of the most expensive, most hardcore equipment there is. the reason for the brew is so that you can say you were under the influence and didn't know what you were doing!!! if the boat doesn't do 100mph, you will as she kicks your @%% out the door!!! seeing as how i'm single, this isn't an option for me. i just run from the bank statements after setting up a boat!!
