I had my biss bud out yesterday and one thing I noticed was that it doesn't turn worth a darn. That was one of my concerns before puttuing in the water b/c i noticed the rudder didnt have very much right turn. Anyway I couldn't get it to turn fast enough and ran it into the concrete side of the pond. It put straight gashes in the front left sponson and one on the rear of the boat. Doesn anyone know of any good ways to patch and paint the boat to get it runnung again??? any hepls good... kinda new to boats. Also for the turn does it just need a bigger servo with more torque what? please help!! Jason

Are they deep scratches? Did it go all the way thru and leave any holes? As for the steering issue, Look at the servo and watch its range of motion, center the range control on the hand control. If the range is skewd to one side with the hand controler centered, you need to loosen the screw on the servo and move the white connecting rod head to its proper center point. This should help a lot but with only one skid fin this boat will always hold better in the turn to the strong side.

Yes they are fairly deep. I know that by the time I got to the other side of the lake a good amount of water had gotten in. Thanks for the steering idea I think that should help some. Still looking for ideas to patch. nitrovegas

Talk to Hydromania. He has done major mods and repairs to his Bud and could probably give you a good place to start :)

I have used a 2 part epoxy mix for repairs. My son accidentally knocked my bud off the counter to a tile floor and cracked the sponson. I used the eopxy mix and spread it in with a popcicle stick and clamped it while it set. I lightly sanded it smooth and painted with a krylon hobby paint. It was fairly simple and looks ok.

thanks for the info ABX. I think that the expoxy should work just fine. i was kind of thinking abou that myself. I will post back with a reply on how that works. :)
