Hello all,
I have a MGT and we have a tight track we run on.
When i go into a turn my truck doesnt gear down it stays in second so when i come out of the turn it bogs.
Are there anything i can do to get it to shift down on the turns so that as soon as i slow down it will down shift.
If i stop it will gear down but not if i slow down and turn any help would be gr8...... :(

Tighten up the screwset for the 2 speed shift engagement. Do a little at a time till you get it where you want it.

I have noticed that as well. Seems if you carry enough speed it doesnt down shift at the same point it up shifts.

if its not to much trouble for you i would take the tranny apart and see if the clutch arm that engages the two speed isnt getting hung up upon disengadgment.

I would like to know how you run the lumbering beast on a tight track in the first place? Mine turns like a wounded whale in a heavy surf compared to my savage which is much more nimble in turning and it will probably never see a track either.

AEs site said to make it shift later and that will make down shift sooner so you will have to comprimise one for the other.
I can make my truck trun in a very short radius, it is all realitive to the speed of the vehicle and by varing diff grease as well.

I don't see what the deal is with people not thinking MT's will turn. Sure, the first MT race we ever had at my track involved more driving over the pipes than staying in them, but it's since become one of the more compeditive classes. It takes a lot of practice to pull a clean, fast lap with an MT.

I have added 5by10 bearings in the bell cranks for added steering in my mgt, I had to put some shims in there too, but it works alot better, than the stock plastic bushings in the bell crank posts.
also, adding the foward only kit, removing the third servo, switching the shocks to red firm springs, ( and cutting off the fake shock resovours with a dremel tool all help my mgt stay nimble and super fast.

At the track I visited this weekend, an MGT owned the A-Main. It sort of made me regret selling mine to wait for the LST. Well, not really since I think the LST will be great too, but it did open my eyes to how good the MGT can be.

If your using the stock receiver and radio make sure you move the power wire from the battery slot to the channel 4 slot on the receiver to by pass the BEC circuit and get the full 6 volts to the servos. Move the steering link to the center outside hole in the servo saver, this gives sharper turning. Also make sure there is no binding of the steering knuckles on the pillow balls. The steering and brakes will improve bigtime. Try adjusting the shift point later. The truck will be traveling faster when it up and down shifts. My son and I are both racing MGT's and are doing very well. Good luck, the MGT can win. :D
