Hey guys,

First time to tinker with electric boats. I have a fighter 550 that I built, with a 3300 (6 cell) pack, and a Hitec Speed Control. I had a 12 turn motor in the boat with the stock propeller. The boat was fast, but the motor was not reaching peak rpm. Does anyone have any suggestions on which prop to use with which motor? I have plenty of motors, but the ones I wanted to use were the 12 turn, or a 19 turn. I just didnt know if there was somewhere to find out which prop to use.

Thanks in advance,
chris

Hi Chris
I have seen these boats run well with Octura X431 and X432's .The x431 is plastic but works really well $1.50 the X432 is metal and works better but is about $10 and needs to be ballanced and pollished. The Fighter 550 will get really light on the water with a lot of speed. It will be hard to keep from blowing over. n.h.schmidt

Ned, thought you were in Wisc. racing! 12 turn and 19 turn are too much for the 550. probably a 14 t or 15t with a 432 would ideal and would be close to the edge of blowover but not quite.

Chris Moon; those motors you mention--12t 19t would work great in a UFO with a 632 prop with cg at 29%. I know ,i have one, and if you place mount at 6", you really have something. The 19t of which i mention in my message is a Chameleon #2110 and is a workhorse.
