Thanks to those who showed up, regulars and the newbies!... Great time again!!

1st course wasn't too bad but did cause some problems for a few of the crawlers. 2nd course didn't seem to let many finish, just a nasty and time consumming course. I think only about 4 actually finished the course without getting the DNF next to their name. The 10 minute time limit went by way too fast!!

Many more photos can be seen at,

Thanks again for the good time!!

All I can say is that looks like a ton of fun!!!

Ahh! I am probablly getting a mini-t and NOW a rock crawler thanks to this thread :D

Great photos to! Whatever truck has the savage shocks looks like it can get some huge articulation going on. But then again most of the trucks their probablly can!

Next time you have an event you should video tape it and post some videos! I for one would download them all

Cant wait to check out the pics on your site!

I'm suprised they had a water hazard. I wouldn't think that would be very popular - espcially with electric vehicles. Great pics and it looks fun.

totally awesome...the water would make it sort of exciting with electric trucks I bet! Makes me want to get a rock crawler.

Many rules to follow!! At this Comp we had a heated dispute over a gate missed, cone hit, gate completed thing... hot sun and mis-communication made it fun :p

Currently we have one class, run what you bring. If I can get my TLT crawler built I bet we'll have at least 2 different classes... 2.2 and Clod/Maxx tire sizes.

ESC = Super Rooster, period.

You have to be able to use forward and reverse... it's like a real rig. You might have to reposition yourself to get a better angle at an object.

We live in Oregon.. it rains often

Electric motors can handle the water as can most recievers and servos...ESC's on the other hand tend to be picky. Few of the guys in the ORCRC gang run Mtroniks waterproof ESC's.

what truck is that in the photo?

see i want to get a nice truck similar to those, but one that isn't so monster truckish...as im not a fan of monster trucks as most of you should know, but i do like a good jacked up 4x4.

and btw a bruiser is out of the question cant afford one of those, well i could but to hard to obtain one.

trw,

That's a highly modified TLT-1. Custom chassis, TLT axles, IMEX Swamp Dawg tires, etc.

Toyofast,

Thanks for getting the pics up so quickly. I had a bunch of fun there (BTW this is Ron with the little TLT-1).

They're on eBay all the time... but they are weak for hardcore crawling duty. Axles and most the drivetrain can't handle real world use.

i know that best ESC is super rooster, but consider that im on very tight budget, and i can have this BM for half the price of super rooster :(

If you're going to build a pure crawler the only choice is a Super Rooster. Save up them pennies untill you can buy one.

Plus in a crawler you need Forward and Reverse, unless if you're truely an amazing driver but most courses make it to where you need to make a 3-point turn..... Super Rooster.. or regular Rooster if on a tighter budget. Watch eBay as SR's are on there often.

I love to see crawlers! A lot of those guys put some serious thought into building their trucks and I love seeing the ones with parts from so many different vehicles, they can't really say what they are. VERY nice pics, except for the fish-eye lens ones. Those make me dizzy.

Not to worry... soon, very soon you too can have a "turn-key" RC Crawler that can keep up with these rigs ;) Look for something big to hit the RC Crawling scene towards the end of July :D

Do you mean run dual ESC's?

BTW: There are no Clods in any of the pictures :D No one runs a Clod in the ORCRC gang. Not sure why but all the rigs are shafties :) We all run a single motor. Some of use have gear reductions as well... My rig, the one on Kongs has a final crawl ratio of 315:1 currently, nice and slow but still has a bit of pep for bumping it rocks.

how did the twin force do?

For being nearly stock it did quite well. Mostly thanks to the tires that were loaned to Dan to use. The tires had some special things done to them to make 'em extra sticky and flexy. Perfect combo for this location.
