Remember a couple of months ago in one of the magazines it explained how to make a music wire driveshaft....ha...i laugh...that thing didnt even pass my tests in the bathtub...we tried 4 times the last time we checked over the magazine article and redid it and still....on an 19 turn motor as soon as you give it full throttle it screws itself over even on the lake...guess....Shimano bycicle brake wire...lol...i managed to get it for 2 buks...use it for my vike and still have enough for 3 driveshafts...they work like a charm!!!!!! u noe how much we wasted on the music wire...$15!!!!! try it cause we did and it works great

Hi Porschefan911 You must be doing it wrong. I have been using wire drives for about four years now . I make them from as small as .032 dia wire (will work for 27turn stock motors) to as large as 1/16". For 19 turn motors I use .039 dia wire. Havent twisted or broken one yet. The 1/16" will serve 12cell 700 and up powered boats. I just came from the Wisconson races .About half of the boats racing were using wire drive. They aren't twisting them up either. I could help with this if you want to try again. n.h.schmidt

They use the term music wire loosely . It actually refers to the wire usually bought in one or three foot lengths at your local hobby shop. K&S is the usual supplyer for this.Often called piano wire. Very low cost and works nicely .Will rust though, if you don't take care n.h.schmidt
