Hey guys im looking for a 1:12 scale boat.

I know the Miss Bud is a 1:12 scale boat but im looking for something electric and a lot less expensive.
Anyone have any sugestions on a 1:12 electric boat?

Also, would anyone have any plans on building a 1:12 scale trailer??

TIA!

What kind? Mono, tunnel, hydro, rigger, cat? Also, they usually aren't referred to as being a specific scale, just as how long they are. Also, if you don't want to spend much money, then don't expect it to go very fast. Finally, do you want to build it (from plans), buy a hull and equip it, or just get a RTR?

electric and inexpensive do not go together, i know i have three boats now and all are in the 500 dollar range. they all also run in the low 30mph range. youll be hard pressed to find a RTR boat that will hit that mark out of the box. there are alot of RTR boats that will do it with a few mods but none will box stock unless its a gasoline powered two stroke model, like the proboat or prather models, and a few others. those are in the 1,000+ price range though. by far in my opinion the best bang for the money has got to be the Traxxas Villain EX, this boat is awesome out of the box, but goes just shy of 20mph stock. I think i clocked it at 17.5 mph on a set of 3000mah packs with a hand held GPS unit.

Really? Only 17? My friend's does 24.2 (as measured by GPS). You are definitely right about it being good bang for the buck. However, it is more expensive (324.99, compared to 299.99) rather than less. A good boat in the 160 dollar range is the Traxxas Blast. It was seing one of those that first got me interested in the hobby, and, it is fast enough (~15 mph) so as not to be boring to the beginner without being so fast as to get out of their control.

we also need specifics if we are going to be of any help to you. what kind of boat hull do you prefer since you mentioned the miss bud i assume you want a hydroplane. what kind of money are you looking to spend set a price range and ill tell you if its workable or not. what do you have as far as support equipment, chargers, batteries, wire, connectors, motors, speed controllers, hardware, tools all this has to be figured in the price too, unless you already have all this stuff and are just looking for a hull to build on.
