Hey everyone, for all of you out there with 1/8th scale buggies, how long do your 6 volt 5 cell reciever batteries last when they are fully charged? and what brand do you use?

I use hobbico hydrimax 6v 1400mah MIMH and get about 1.5 to 2 hours run time using 2 Hitce 615mg servos and a futaba failsafe unit .I charge and cycle them with a accucycle from Hobbico. What's your run times and equipment?

I am using some 2 year old reciever batteries by futaba, and they've NEVER been discharged, and they rin about 30 minutes http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif. I want to get some NIMH batteries and a charger and all equipmen for them, but I don't know what to get, what are you suggestions?

I would go to www.towerhobbies.com (http://www.towerhobbies.com) and look up batteries.Hobbico Hydrimax Ultra batteries come in 1400mah or 2000mah at $26 and $32.For you transmitter they have 9.6v 1400mah at $40.To charge them get the Hobbico Accucycle,it discharges then charges your packs and can do both at the same time, and costs $89 thats about $160 total but it's the best investment i've made.I also use a Futaba failsafe unit so if my tx or rx battery run low throtle goes off and the brakes go on.buy this stuff it's a must,I know 30 min of running would just tease me.Later

are those batteries bigger than the futaba 6v 600mah batteries? because for christmas I got some reciever batteries from durtrax that were 1100 mah, but there were too wide for him reciever box on my mp-6

The 6-cell (rated @900-1100mAh) flat receiver packs by Orion, Ace Hobby, or Trinity will fit perfectly in an MP-6 radio box. Alternatively you can buy 6 Gold Peak GP100AFH cells and solder them together...same thing as the ready assembled cells.
