A while ago there was a T-Maxx video where the guy ended up loosing it in a duck pond! Does anyone here have a link to the video?

Oh man  that was hilarious! To bad though he probably needed a new set of electronics because of that one. Lol something like 40 cents for a fail safe spring could have saved it. :D

Kiss that engine good-bye while you're at it.
Nah, the engine is fine I bet. It's just water...
In case you want proof, I drove my Kyosho Sandmaster in a nearby river and it sat for a few minutes before it floated to a shallow section. Started up after I took the whole engine apart, lubed it with WD-40, put it back together, and life restored :D
Lucky for me, my servos were nice and tight and I had waterproofed my Rx in a zip lock bag and Silicone.

You defiently were lucky. I saw one instance where someone's Savage ran off into a creek and the block cracked from the water.

The exact same thing happened to me when the batteries died! I was driving it around in my back yard and it took off straight for the lake! Everything including the servos and engine all worked the next day. I could not believe it. I still went ahead and replaced the servos though.
I also flew my plane into our lake. It actually kept running right back to shore. It never ran again though! Last plane I ever had. :D

You guys should put some paddles on a pretty fast MT and see if you can hydroplane across water.

yeah, just start off small before you try to plane across any duck ponds :)

There's a video somewhere in which someone did just that. It roosted a lot of water, but didn't last long. The air filter got wet and the engine died.
The video didn't show how they got the truck out of the water and it probably toasted the engine.

Theres actually a video of electric buggies hydroplaning. All it has to have is a straight flat surface to enter the water upon, and NOT lose speed, second it loses speed its under.
