What does everyone think of their products? I am thinking about changing out some of the stock parts on my t-maxx with some of their aluminum(spelling? :o ) products. I really like the skeletons that they sell. And they sure are alot cheaper than Hardcore. I think the skeleton is $350.
How strong is aluminum? Will it withstand a pretty hard impact? And how much lighter/heavier would a fully aluminum t-maxx be compared to the stock truck?
Thanks!

check out trilordy.com they tested the skeleton and it and they located not to far from my house so the lhs has a tmaxx with it on it and it looks strong oh and the guys from trilordy also work at the lhs and are very knowledgable

its supposed to be tuff stuff....I know several people who bought their stuff, they told me it was really sturdy but perhaps not quite as pretty as stuff like UE or fastlane, but considering you pay about 1/2 the cost of the big name stuff its well worth it.
plus u get a whole lot of alu for very little money.......a full alu T-maxx will be heavier than stock, I dunno exactly by how much tho cuz I'm not sure how much the maxx weighs as per stock, but it might add something like 2-3lb if you go all alu...
plus people will give u rubbish about alu bends....yeah it does but if you think you can bend seriously beefy 6061 T6 suspension arms without dropping it from 30,000ft ur nuts.......:p

Could you just wait a couple of months and buy my products? I promise them to be cheaper and nicer-looking than ACNCM. :D

I don't have a site, yet. I am planning on making aluminum maxx susp. arms, shock towers, gear cases, bulkheads, T & E maxx chassis, savage arms and tvp's, Revo arms and LST parts,(not sure what because I don't have them yet). Maybe rims, driveshafts, whatever I can think of to make.
The good thing about my new company is I have no employees or engineers to pay, I do everything myself. I can provide parts that are the same or higher quality than the big guys at way cheaper prices. Wait a couple of months and I plan to have a website and most of the parts I listed above. :)

Well, after looking at that chassis, it definitely looks strong! Tho, in my opinion, that main deck is pretty thick, 6.3mm, that's almost a 1/4". Another thing to think about is the added weight will place undo demands on the engine & clutch, making it appear underpowered. In other words, if you upgrade to an alloy chassis and parts, upgrade the engine & clutch as well, to one that will compensate.
As for aluminum parts withstanding an impact, yes & no. From what I have read about the way people runs their trucks, they're run them as if they have a whole roomful of replacement parts. If you take precautions and drive it sanely, you'll minimize any impact damage.....and if this is a major concern to you, then, "86" the alum alloy and stay with plastic. If you race, this concern can be the difference between winning & losing.
My truck, Pie Wagon, is 99% alloy, but, if I break it, I can make new parts. Buying replacement parts because they bent or even snapped can get pricey after a while. (just my $.02)

Integy makes a ton of aluminum maxx parts. The integy parts are perhaps not as strong as some of the others, but they are extremely nice looking and definately the lightest aluminum parts available. The prices aren't bad, either. I carry Integy and Gorilla maxx parts(g-maxx makes nice al. skids that are 33% lighter than the stock plastic).

We have sold at LOT of the American CNC stuff here at the store over the past few months. It is very strong, well-made, and relatively inexpensive. It's not polished out and blingin', but it could be if you wanted it to be. You can't go wrong with it.

Do you have any earthly idea of the time it takes to make these parts???

No, I have no clue what I'm up to...I live in a cave and eat Cheetos all day.
I do know this though...I'm running hand-written Gcode with the Linux EMC on a 466DX computer. This setup gives me rapids of 1000ipm and smooth feeds of 800ipm on a purpose-built 3-Axis CNC tool. It has a 65,000rpm NSK air spindle and 35mm THK linear bearings on all axes. The working area is 16" x 16" x 4", with accuracy/repeatability of 0.000125. Motion is provided by Nook Ballnuts on 0.2 lead superprecision screws. Yes, I know that this is nothing extraordinary, but...Where it gets interesting is the 6-space ATC on the MicroCat spindle, and the automated material handling/fixturing equiptment.
This is my setup, What's yours?

need to make some clutch shoes, and fly wheels that have a super mega fan blade design to pull air thru it and cool off the clutch bell, when running aluminum shoes.
I personaly have a schumacher nitro fusion .21 on road 1/10 scale touring car, that pretty much breaks a a arm or a mount for one on every outing, I guess I need to lern to drive better at 70+ mph.

I added up what it would cost do a t-maxx with all their parts. I think it came out to $2,500. Way more than I want to spend! What happened to that $500 measily Revo and $1,500 per weekend for Go Karts?
For an all out racing Maxx, I would simply sell it and go with a Truggy. Less money to waste, and in turn it's stronger and faster.
