Hey yall, the gearbox set...spur gear mount and diff cases....part number for the Nitro MT 2, which is the same as the Nitro RS4 3..., is different then the original Nitro MT...but they look identical.. Are they? Cause I have a brand NEW Nitro MT gearbox set just not installed yet....and want to get the new nitro MT shock towers and want to use them with this gearbox set and not have to buy a WHOLE new one and have wasted $5....

You need new outdrives, dogbones and axles, the thicker dogbones won't fit in the old outdrives or axles.

Are you saying I can use NMT2 outdrives, axles, and dogbones in my NMT? My mild big-block keeps twisting stock NMT dogbones. :(

I honestly don't know if the new outdrives and such will fit in the old case. I *know* there is some difference in the cases, but I haven't actually got a new case. I *do* have a set of the new bones, and looked at using them in my NMT, but as I said, you've have to use the new outdrives and axles, which my LHS hasn't got yet.
Doesgo - I know you're not I a noob - I've seen you around. Which bones are you twisting, the front, or the rear? Do you break many outdrives? If you're twisting bones and breaking front outdrives, you may have a different problem, which I can also help you with.

Cotharyus, Yeah, I've been an NMT guy off-and-on for nearly two years now, it was my first nitro vehicle!
Anyway, I've twisted one front and one rear dogbone so far, and bent a couple as well. I don't really understand the bending, both have been right near the end, neither was really severe....it's weird. Most of my driving lately has been on a track, no jumping since I put my big-block in (other than track jumps). I haven't broken any outdrives or axles yet, and I haven't checked my center 'bones to determine their condition. I probably should!
Thanks for the link, Kenny T! Great info there.
