honestly, not much faster. ran into the same problem with my traxxas blast. the boat in stock for was pretty fast but soon i wanted it to go faster, so i dumped a bunch of money into it with modified motors and more cells, but nothing gave it much more speed. So i went to do a complete rebuild and make room or a larger motor and more cells and a different prop, but before i could finish the project i found a faster boat for cheaper than the costs of rebuilding the one i had. so now the boat sits in the closet waiting for its day under the dremel. but to answer your question i would guess you would pick up maybe 3 to 5 mph untill the motor smoked. i was never able to make those rebuildable 540 mod motors hold up as well as a sealed can motor run under the same conditions. <~~~ thats probably why, i think the prop needs to be changed to add a high turn motor and the motor also needs water cooling.
