THE F1 CLASS WILL BE LIMITED TO A 19T MOTOR AND A STANDARD 2400 PRE-BUILT BATTERY PACK. YOU CAN HOP-UP THE REST OF THE CAR TO YOUR HEART DESIRE. THIS WILL MAKE THIS CLASS ALL ABOUT THE DRIVING AND NOT ABOUT THE MONEY. HOBBY CHAMBER (http://WWW.HOBBYCHAMBER.COM)

Here are the rules from the web page:

19 Turn Spec Modified 1/10 Scale F1 Cars

1. Any F1 chassis

2. Chameleon 19 turn motor

3. Any 2400 pack

4. Any foam tires.

5. Minimum weight 53 oz. without transponder

6. 5 min. heats; 5 min. mains

This is a track where we've done a lot of testing. It's super smooth and a lot of fun to drive. I'm all for this class because I like the Tamiya F1 cars. The 4WD makes them very easy to drive, they have excellent scale appearance, and they have a full ball-bearing drivetrain and ball diffs at each end of the car. They're also pretty reasonably priced - it's about $170 for the kit as I recall.

The only thing I'm not certain is a good thing is the tire rule. I think it will diminish the appeal of the class to have touring foams installed on an F1 car. I think I would rather it be limited to rubber tires. This would eliminate a LOT of expense related to sorting out which tires will work best.

P.S. George (I'm assuming it's you), the CAPS IS KILLING ME! ;)

This the latest post from the Hobby Chamber web site. they also have a poll on thier fourm about foam or rubber tires. I like the idea that i do not need to spend all my childrens' college money to run this class.

19 Turn Spec Modified 1/10 Scale F1 Cars

1. Any F1 chassis

2. Chameleon 19 turn motor (Trinity Chameleon 2 Pro Motor Part # RC2123 OR Trinity Chameleon 2 Motor part # 2122) The difference between the Chameleon 2 Pro and the Chameleon 2 is that the Pro is dyno tuned (therefore is broken in) and has better brushes and brush springs. Some drivers know how to dyno tune and like to choose their own brushes and springs.

3. Any 2400 pack (We recommend Megatech 6-Cell 2400mAh NiMH Chris Chianelli Megapack part # 3941. We know that not every hobby shop stocks this brand, thus we will accept any comparable brand. If your local hobby shop does not carry it you can purchase on at our track when you come to race. You can not build your own.)

4. Any foam tires.

5. Minimum weight 53 oz. without transponder

6. 5 min. heats; 5 min. mains
