I think that should be allowed to enter just for the cool factor. Of course it wont count.

If the event were to switch to a dragstrip I would like to see thrust powered vehicles be allowed, but in a separate class than wheel driven vehicles.
Let's not forget, an organized multi entrant event such as this one is not required to claim the record. When I claim the record ( ;) ) with my wheel driven car, there's nothing preventing anyone from fulfilling the Guiness rules and grabbing the record with a thrust powered vehicle the next day. We wouldn't even know about it until the book came out.
If you can't beat them, join them.
