I have an RC10L3 with a speed gems 15t motor. I'd say it goes around 50mph, but thats just a guess

I have a 65 Fastback Stang with a 396 and has seen well over 100mph. :D You never said what kind of car, I have never push past 1/2-3/4 throttle......it just gets scary! I baby my car most of the time, but you have to feed some speed to your ride every now and then.

Yeah, right. See that guy above? He probably doesn't own a Stang. A 396 never came in one, because they're CHEVY engines, not Fords! "65 Mustangs had 160 6's, 200 6's, 260ci 8's, and 289ci 8 cylinder engines. There's not enough room between the shock towers in 64-66 Mustangs, Falcons, and Fairlanes to shoe-horn bigger engines in there, even a 351 Windsor, which will tough the shock towers and shake the car. It wasn't until 1967 that the car was widened enough to put anything bigger. :rolleyes:

Matski, your right. My dads 1970 Chevelle SS 396 has hit 100. Back to R/C cars, my Bolink funny car runst at about 60(7 cells, D4 9 turn)

Tell me something, do pan cars like the RC10L3 usually get higher top speeds than touring cars like the TC3? If so, by how much?

Since speed costs money, and since I have none, my car only does 12 mph. JK!! LOL!!
Chums. The rc10l3 is a direct drive, no transmission, so no gear reduction. The pinion is driving a spur that is directly on the axle, so they flat out fly. Just make sure the driving surface is smoooooooth!

Hey Mattski, you don't have to believe me. You can say what ever you like. I know what motors came in a for from 64 1/2 - 71. My car came orig with a 289.....if theres a will theres a way you can make room for the 396. But hey you don't have to believe me. Someone told a friend of mine he couldn't put a Pontiac 400 in his 81 T/A but he did it. It was orig with a 301 Turbo. So don't say it can't be done because it has.

I'd say my car can hit about 52.7MPH if I can push it hard enough. That's not near close enough to those Serpent cars...wow that's fast!

i dont know, id say my tc3 with a 10t motor 25/72tooth gearing id say it would hit 35-40 but thats just guessing it would be faster i dunno.

My Pro 2 did 74 once, on its last run with me it went 35. I was driving my Miata at the time and just finished a brand new body for it. I was holding the car out of the window to test for stability and downforce at racing speed and I wasn't really paying attention when all of a sudden WHAM, the car isnt in my hand any more. I screach to a halt and look back and there is a bum laying on the side of the road with a pro 2 wedged in his forehead and his "need money for food" sign blowing in the wind. (note to self, never forget to install the bumper again) Anyways, he starts getting up with the car wedged in his forehead and I hop in my car and yell "your gonna thank me for this when your addicted to RC" and drive off.

My 1997 Grand Prix governed out at 113MPH. I had Z rated tires on it. It would have been able to handle it.. Why do auto manufactures 'govern' the newer cars..?

No offense to you guys, and i don't know where you live, but my civic has gone up to 115 many, many times. This isn't that fast. When i go out driving i go this speed regularly (although it takes awhile). Friggin' speed limiters!!!!

Hey, everyone, y'all know this BadRacer guy is blowing smoke now. 396 engines are CHEVY engines. They'll not bolt up into a Ford early Mustang engine bay- the engine motor mounts are a little off, and they won't bolt up to any Ford tranny. Not to mention that a 396 is more than an inch too wide. Yeah, right. If you'd admitted it, we'd still have some respect for you. And anyways, the swap you're referring to (put a Pontiac 400 in his 81 T/A but he did it) is of course possible. At least that was working within the dynamic of the SAME MANUFACTURER!! How old are you? Are you one of those kids like my little brother who won't admit things even when he's caught red-handed? We'll see.

my T3 with a 1500 pack and a fantom p2k hit 26mph and i just lit my Tc3 up yesterday for the first time and it did 26 also. but i plan to get a 13 turn with a 2400 mah pack for that baby.

NOS ~ my brothers '93 civic hatchback can get up to almost 140. carbon fiber hood, B-16 engine, a whole heap load of engine work and it's lighter than civic coupes so it will kill all other civics. besides.

he beat a boxster by about a bumper, five camaros, a neon :rolleyes: , two civics, four mustangs. i don't know if he got a corvette yet. he should stop street racing and take it to the strip. but that's my opinion.

I love it when my dad goes car shopping, he tests top speeds, our 330 is governed so it stops at 128, but that is still d amn fast!!

Then my brother's friend got a new
Mountaineer with a v8(it doesnt have much torque compared to the straight six of my bro's cheroke) last year and he drove me home and took the long way, went on rt. 1 and did 106 i am sure it could have gone faster if it wasnt for the traffic.

I have a Tamiya Falcon crossed with a Hornet. With the big 32 pitch pinion gear, and a 13x2 it flew. (past tence) :( Any body have spare parts? LOL Next up, RC10T/E-Pede?

.21 Tmaxx.... about 35 mph with stock gearing...

rc10GT with os .15 cvx hyper... about 35-40 mph

Ofna ULTRA mbx.... around 40-50 mph....

2001 olds aurora.... hit 180 kph (and had to ease off because of radar traps...

kkd, the Tmaxx with a .21 and stock gearing is no faster than a stock Tmaxx. Chucksolo, I completely believe you. I've had my 4tec up to 40.

My fastest car is my Nitro RS4 and it does a little over 60 mph. The fastest I have ever gone in a car is a little under 170 mph in my uncles Viper Venom 800. It is capable of going well over 220 mph. Like to see you all beat that.

Some of you may laugh at this one, but I have a Traxxas Street Sport that is pretty hopped up and can hang with RTR nitro cars. I can actually beat a nitro RS4 RTR with it and can even hang with a Nitro 4-Tec on a small course. The only thing stock on this thing is the tranny, chassis and servos. I think this thing is doing about 35 to 40 MPH.

Wow this is an awesome post. Not only do I like to see how fast your r/c cars are but also your real cars. Hey, I test drove a 1977 corvette and the speedomiter said 160. Does it realy hit 160? Because I know the vettes in the mid-late 70s had 165-205 horses (damn gas shortage)

I have a dual motor tamiya that runs on 10 cells and turns around 75-80mph!Its powered by twin race prep 5 turn mods and 2400 team cells!Don't drive it much because its a concourse car and the body costed me close to $200 to paint!Props go out to Richard Muise at motion graphics for the awesome paint!! ;)

Draggerman... Well, thats what most people think, but the problem lies in the fact that the stock TRX engine only reaches around 26,000 RPM (maybe a wee bit more) and this if from the guys at Traxxas themselves... They just wont print this or the measly .58 hp either...

Whereas my .21 tops out around 32,000 rpm, so this is where the extra speed comes from (only about 5 mph faster, but gets there ALOT quicker...LOL)...

PS: could always throw a 22T clutchbell with a 64 Spur....

I have had my 1965 Corvette Coupe up to 150 mph once :eek: , it was running around 5500rpm and redline is 6750 so it had a ways to go yet. It has the 365hp 327 and a 4 speed but it is probably putting out better than 400hp now.

My RS4 Nitro with a 2 speed tranny and Viper body on the other hand we clocked (by car) at 48 mph, that means about 480mph in scale speed (1/10 scale). No idea on the Ofna buggy, probably about 40mph I would guess tops.
