Well I just bought my cvd for my maximum bx that I've converted the suspension to a st suspension.
I have off the drive joints that stick out of the gear case.(The dogbone end would sit in it to be turned) But end of the cvd has threaded ends. Do I have to get into the gear case and pull off the arm that sticks out of the gear case?
Never installed a pair of these before.
Any help would be great.

are both ends of CVD threaded? As i know one end should be like dogbone (round with two pins) and this part you put in diff outdrive, and the othe part ( the threaded one) goes throught wheel hub, and wheel sits on it, is it possible that you give a photo of it? It would help

^ ^ Agreed, unless another BX owner comes along who can visualize what you're describing a pic would be very helpful. **Most** CVD upgrades have a dogbone on one end and replace the stock drive axles.

what im thinking,,,is that he thinks u put the dog bone part in the wheel hub axle one and then thread the other side into the diff,,,, :p ,,,,so you have to take off your wheel and take out the pin,,slide the axle out and put the threaded part through there and then the dog bone part in the diff outdrive.... sorry if this doesnt make sense,,,but its 3:51 am here in cali and im kinda tired :D

I just got my CVD's for my Max MT and DO NOT put the threadid part into the gear case...this is how you do it:
1. Take off your wheels on both sides of the back.
2. Pop the drive washer's off with a screw driver it might be a little hard to get off but it will come off.
3. Take out the bottom screw that connects the A-arm to the hub.
4. Put the drive joints back onto the gear case.
5. Then lift the hub up and the Dog Bone will fall out.
6. Take the black wheel shafts out of each hub.
7. install the threadid part of the CVD into the hub-Just like the black ones that you took out.
8. Install the rounded end of the CVD into the Drive joints.
9. Put the screw back into the hole that connects both the A-arm and hub together.
10. slide the drive washers on, put the wheel on and tighten up the locknut...if the thread is a REALLY long one use two locknuts on each side.
Also, are your CVD's tapered? Like it has the thread then when it ends it gets wider and wider? if so your done... if not and theres a little hole at the end of the thread you'll need some 12MM drive washers-the kind that are slotted for the pin to go through the little hole on the CVD.

Thanks Are-see-truk, I just kept thinking they went the opposite way with the threaded part into the gear case, but now that makes sense that the threaded part replaces the old black drive wheel shafts.
Thanks allot, I probably would have taken my whole gear case apart trying to get them in.

Haha no-problem just trying to save you from some un-needed work :D
Also did you get the Tapered ends or the ones that use the hole and the pin goes through the CVD and theres a slot in the drive washer for the pin?

I got the tapered pins ones. After turning my brain on I got them installed. It was a hop up weekend. I put on blue aluminum arms front and back then blue shocks, st turnbuckles, blue hubs, new rechargeable battery pack, new receiver, and a new torq .16 motor with tuned pipe and to top it off a bigger t-maxx gas tank.
Thanks allot for your help.
