That's totally awesome dude! Nice pics! The more I look at stuff like this, the more I want some sort of MT for climbing and harsh terrain my T3 can't handle.

Im building a custom crawler the only thing that has me worried is if I had a head on crash the front axle will try to fold under the chassis instead of going up like independant suspention cars do. Do all 4-link trucks do that or is there somthing I need to change?

travel limiter straps maybe?? if it's cause nothing is relly keeping the suspension from extending too far and allowing the tires to go under and back when you hit somthing, maybe straps from the chassis to front axle could solve this?? but i would think the shocks would prevent this....
maybe i don't accuratly see what you're describing?

It doesnt actually fold back but if I did hit something head on the chassis wouldnt move. Stadium trucks have kickup so when they hit something head on the a-arms will go up allowing them to go over larger obstacals, I didnt know if it was possible for 4-links to have some form of kickup.

Whoa dude.... doesn't sound like your building a crawler. Sound more like a high speed truck that you want to call a crawler.
Crawlers and racers are from two different worlds. Crawlers go slow, walking speed or slower.... racers go fast.
Crawlers tend to run either a 3-link or 4-link suspension setup. You can adjust the pinion angle if needed to get your "rake/kick up" but if you do too much you'll effect the pinion angle and steering.
I'd suggest you go see how other crawlers are setup before you start your build-up. Or, if there are no crawlers local to you, research 3-link and 4-link setups on real 1:1 off-road boards. It'll help you understand how to properly setup your crawler.
For an easy way to find crawlers in your area go to, http://www.rccrawler.com then go to community forum.

well 4 links don't really have kickup...it'd be like trying to drive somthing with trailing arm rear suspension into a rock....BAM!!!......period. for a crawler you would pull up to the rock, nudje it, then shimmy up the face with throttle input :p
try to jump the thing and you'll break somthing....lol unless of course it's smaller than half of the wheel, then it might be able to kick up like you said.
